3.

Completely lost sorry. I am either really slow or am not in ''the loop'', whatever the loop is.  I guess the capital ''D'' and ''S'' stand for something. Like a good riddle but all I can think of is Delia Smith. She is a woman of god, but I doubt it is here matey :-D
What is the loop?? I was just talking to Seedy Mullins about his beliefs and pets...
Sorry mate thought it was a reply to me because of the way the posts are ordered.
I don''t think it matters anyway :) Do you reckon God has been looking down favourably on Delia and those who kept faith?
If I believed in god then maybe so, perhaps instead we should just consider Delia our very own Saint.
 4.
My thinking is that villa are a step up from us and lambert wanted to progress his career. Simple.
They aren''t though are they? They have a bit more history, slightly larger gates, but they are crippled financially and in three years time we will still be years ahead of them. Lambert is still having to gamble on kids, a gamble which almost didn''t work out last season, and he has three or four players that he has to shift before he could even think about bringing in more players of Benteke quality. Given, Ireland, Bent, he is lumbered with them.
 5.
I read some where last week that said the failed medical at Everton is a bit of a conspiracy theory and that Everton couldnt afford the fee they had agreed (A player was suppose to leave but the move collasped) so in order to drive the price down, they reported a medical fault. Think this was transfer deadline day.Take it with a pinch if you like.Similar happened at Forest with George Boyd and his ''Eye Illness''
That''s what I thought too. He would be the perfect Fellaini replacement, and he was rumoured to be leaving in that window. Wouldn''t have been room for the both of them, so bet a Fellaini move away failed to materialise.
 6.
Have you watched either of them in full matches?
Yes
 7.

Seen him a few times and well.... he could easily be the next YaYa Toure/ Patrick Vieira
Definitely. I''d like him more to a Toure or Gerrard, box to box player. Vieira actually lacked goals in his game... Fer seems to be a goalscorer (like Toure). Really excited about this one. Basically Damien Francis on steroids.
They changed his position to more of an attacking midfielder recently. Hence the increase in goals. He''s so fast though he can get back and defend when needed. He''s perfect for us really.
Just have to cross our fingers that he stays fit, has had injuries, but looks to be one who is worth the risk.
 8.
Its great, but we have to hope they can play together. If it was as easy as just signing players everyone would be a good manager. The biggest challengebfor hoots now he got his men is making the gel and play for each other. If he can do that (i think he can) then there is no reason we could push a top 8 finish (6-8) and or win a cup. Personally i would prefer us to have another summer of strengthening before we are blessed with a europa league spot.you need a much bigger squad thwn we have and he PL always has to be priority. Interesting times yes........ Exciting times hopefully........
Agree that Premier League has to be a priority, but never know with a cup, got to the QF last year... and think we would have got Bradford in the semi-final. Then Swansea in the final, who we always seem to do well against!

 10. He has pace, power, strength, can tackle, can pass, can shoot. He looks like the ultimate midfielder, just like a Gerrard or a Fellaini. Van Wolfswinkel looks like a goal machine, but the complete midfielder is more of a rarity then a natural goalscorer imho. Of course both amazing signings, on a whole new level, but Fer looks like a rare talent to me. Just hope we keep the man fit.
 11. They are both amazing signings, but a team needs possession to create chances, and we strikers need chances to score goals. Any striker would have struggled in our team last season, not just Holt, even Van Wolfswinkel would have struggled. We obviously needed to strengthen the midfield, which we will do with several players, but Fer is a player of quality way beyond our wildest dreams.
 12. IMHO. Been watching YouTube clips of this man, he has the pace and power of a Patrick Vieira or Yaya Toure, a bit Gerrard-esque. OK so Van Wolfswinkel may become the best striker that many of us have ever seen at Carrow Road in yellow, but this man brings something to the table which in todays market should cost £25m. The man honestly looks top drawer. I wonder whether we got him cheap because his knee injury is a serious threat however, we can only hope that it isn''t as serious as Everton were making out. Could it well be that Fer was lined up as a replacement for Fellaini who looked set for an outward move which didn''t materialise? Can''t remember us ever having a player with Fer''s quality. I guess Damien Francis would be the poor mans Fer. This player could well be our Fellaini as we begin to build a team to rival that built by Moyes at Everton. Is European football really out of the question? Swansea and Wigan are there, why can''t we get there? Really excited about this one, think this may well be ''the'' signing of our summer.
 13.
New Boy: thank you for your kind and considered response, delivered with the level of civility I''d expect.
Welcome.
 14.
How did this thread, which is basically about news of signing(s) today, get hi-jacked into a discussion about world class players, particularly goalkeepers? Keep on topic, please, or start a new thread.
No.
 15.
So this must mean we can''t compete with Ajax in wages. But we were tempting so we must have been close. Good times ahead.
No it doesn''t mean that, it means we couldn''t meet the demands that he has for his next contract, not his current contract. If Ajax could pay him whatever it is that he now wants then perhaps he wouldn''t be seeking to move on...
 16.
Hart is a top quality keeper. Didn''t have a great season but is still an excellent keeper. Better than Ruddy, Vorm, Cesar and whoever else was mentioned and shouldn''t have been. There are very few keepers better than him
He was nominated by footballers as one of the five best in the world in November 2012: http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1232887/joe-hart-has-been-named-one-of-the-world''s-best-goalkeepers?cc=5739Had a shaky season but at 26 still young for a keeper. Casillas, Neuer, Buffon, and Cech were the other four nominated for the award....
 17.

All I can say is that some of you are really hard to please. He would be a quality signing and no mistake.
I agree with that, he would be a ''quality signing'', he just wouldn''t be a ''world class'' signing, and the only way that a team like ours could have a ''world class'' player is to buy them very young and develop them into one.
Martin Peters was world class but we didn''t develop him nor buy him young..........
Completely different era, with completely different finances. Peters would likely have made a very good living from the game, enough to achieve financial security even. Now we have teams like Man City who pay enough to make somebody a multi-millionaire in one year.
 18.
better keepers: Buffon, Casillas, Neuer, Ruddy, Vorm, Cesar, De Gea (potentially), Weidenfeller, Lloris, Adler All better than Hart IMO
With a better man manager Hart will revert back to the form that he showed two years ago. He has had one bad season playing for a manager who lost his dressing room and who would berate Hart publicly. Cesar better than Hart? You must be kidding right? The bloke who played for QPR last season? He was crud, he even lost his place in the team to Green towards the end. Buffon, Casillas, Neuer are the only three in your list who are better than Hart when he gets over his current confidence issues and reverts back to form from 18 months ago.
 19.
"TheNewBoy""Herman "You are confusing the hell out of us Newboy!! I''m the confused one, trust me, the Scotland comment confused me - still think he was saying England are better than Italy.  No he wasn''t. That''s what''s confusing.
If he thinks that England are worse than I do, which you think he does, then why would I be the Scotland fan? A Scotland fan would say something like "England are crap, no world class players, never going to win anything, no good young players coming through, can''t wait to beat them again at Wembley so I can run onto the pitch and tear down the goal posts". A Scotland fan wouldn''t say "England are almost as good as Italy, a team which contains four world class players".
 20. If you don''t ask you don''t get, move on to the next name on the list. Sure Hughton has plenty of targets to fall back on. Fer would be a great start.
 21.
All I can say is that some of you are really hard to please. 22.
Someone said Hart was world class! Lol!!
Well he is, can you name five better keepers? Considering Brazil play the QPR keeper and Holland play the Swansea keeper, and considering he keeps Ruddy out of the England team... and considering the French number 1 had to share his gloves with a 42 year old Brad Friedel.... I''d say that Hart falls easily within world class. We will see that again this season now that Mancini has gone.
 23.
You are confusing the hell out of us Newboy!!!
I''m the confused one, trust me, the Scotland comment confused me - still think he was saying England are better than Italy.
 24.
England doesnt have potential, The ox, Rodwell and Wilshire wouldnt get in at any forgein sides and are nothing better than what England already have.
Think you are wrong there, all three have a lot of potential, Oxlade-Chamberlian in particular looks like he could become world class and has 3 goals in 12 games at 19 years old.  Plenty of players in the Spanish team who hadn''t even broken into domestic football by that age. He is one year older than some of the kids who won the FA youth cup last year and he is already playing regularly for a top four side and for England.
 25.

"He is basically a squad player for Italy, a national team which isn''t any better than ours" Do you support Scotland with that comment as you can''t be talking about England.
Are you suggesting that I''m a Scotland fan because I don''t think the England team are better than Italy? If anything I''d argue that Italy are a little bit better than England, but with England having a bit more potential for the future if players like Wilshere, Rodwell, and Oxlade-Chamberlain fulfill their potential. We haven''t got anybody with the quality of Pirlo in our team and when we did have one (Scholes) we wasted him. You are deluded if you think we are any better than Italy. Who got to the final of Euro 2012 again? They over-achieved, but didn''t see England getting to the final.
I believe he is saying the complete opposite, that their team is much better than ours
But that wouldn''t make the slightest bit of sense. Why would a Scotland fan be complimentary of England by saying that Italy are only a little better? Italy are over rated just like we are. Without Pirlo and De Rossi they would be useless, and they won''t have Pirlo for long.
