1.
New Boy, Maric had one season at Barca, and then went to Celta Vigo.
Not true, he went on loan to Barcelona for a season from Celta Vigo. Funny though, that he gets to put Barcelona on his CV.
 2. Pacheco hasn''t been released, he is going on loan to Celta Vigo.
 3.

It''s a joke that a country without any tradition of football got the World Cup after others. Knowing the heat, any time of the year there, will be a problem for players and fans.   Maybe the big European clubs will suddenly not qualify? Countries such as Luxembourg, San Marino and Malta make it to the finals. Make it more of a farce than it already is to show FIFA that Blatter hasn''t got a clue.
Japan and South Korea had no tradition of playing football but hosted an excellent World Cup, USA also had no tradition but did a good job - it is only fair that the World Cup is moved around the world rather than staying in the same old places. Germany 2006 was a well organised tournament but had none of the excitment that game from hosting the tournament in a country that is just beginning it''s love affair with football. Anyway, as I said before football is HUGE in the middle east and the Qatar Wold Cup is more a tournament for the region rather than one country specfically.
What the hell are you talking about Bethnal Green? What''s fair about bribes resulting in a World Cup being awarded to a country that''s completely irrelevant as far as football''s concerned? Wake up and smell the coffee. I don''t care how fabulous the bid was. It was fundamentally flawed on two counts. First, Quatar has absolutely no footballing heritage. Two, 50c temperatures will result I fatalities. Supporters, players or both. It''s bad enough listening to Blatters cr@p without our own lot joining in.
Agree about the corruption, crooks at the top of everything and he should have been ostracized and jailed. Not fair to say that UAE have no footballing history though, they played in Italy 1990 the best world cup since 1966  :)Woy Hodgson was their manager once too.
 4.
- The popularity of football in the Middle East......contrary to what many think football IS very popular in this region and has been for a long time both among locals (who follow a local professional side, plus are mad on other big clubs such as Real, Carcelona and Manure) and the multi cultural ex-pats (who would certainly help fill the stadiums). The main problem though on a local level is that the ex-pats dont tend to follow the local professional sides, but that will I am sure change.
Seeing as you live there (I assume), was wondering if you have ever gone and watched any of the local teams? I''ve never been to the UAE but I read that when Cisse went on loan to a UAE club from QPR he was playing in front of just a few hundred people. Is this the case with all clubs, are they really all getting just a few hundred people at games? That''s why I was under the impression that football isn''t all that popular, although sure that will change when the likes of Messi and Ronaldo are in town.I actually agree with much of the rest of your post in that Dubai is a good location (other than the ridiculous summer temperatures), they have all the infrastructure in place, plenty of hotels and lots to keep fans entertained when their team isn''t playing. And to be honest, I can''t see why a winter tournament should be such a big issue. There are actually plenty of leagues which have to their plans affected by summer tournaments, Scandinavia and the USA for example, so can''t see the harm in us having to take a month off for once. One concern that I would have however is the policing. Bound to be plenty of fans go and do something a little silly which might get them a night in the cells in England or France, but which will get them 18 months in a cell in Dubai??
 5.
The mention of the name Sepp Blatter (I can hardly bring myself to write it) fills me with a sense of  - "how on earth?"How on earth - is he still there?
He was re-elected in 2011 because members had the choice between one candidate. Was the only name on the ballot paper!
 6.
Superclubs: Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U and City. Rung below: Spurs, Liverpool, Newcastle and Everton Bit more established names: Villa, West Ham, Fulham and Stoke. Then there is the rest really. Potentially could say Swansea in there but I don''t think they are more established just have Europe. I am assessing this on stature so finances are left out otherwise Southampton get stuck in there. They have better foundations than us but I think the gap is closing quickly. I judge this on how long they have been established in the league what they have done so European appearances in recent years and a bit of history.
No idea what your methodology is there.... where are Sunderland? West Brom?  Why are Fulham in this third tier whilst we are not? Because they have one famous striker and played a few games in Europe a couple of years ago? Don''t think your list can be taken the slightest bit seriously when you include Villa who have finished 15th and 16th in the last two years (and got knocked out of the league cup by Bradford) but can leave out West Brom, where Lukaku went on loan last season, or Sunderland.... who have just signed an Italy international, currently have Adam Johnson in their team, and play in front of 40000 per week. Not all players just look at the status of a club, some of them have more sense. Bassong came here to play every week, if he was only interested in status he would stayed at Spurs and played 15 games a year like Joleon Lescott at Man City. Others only care about money, like Loic Remy. Why else would he have ignored Newcastle and joined a tinpot club?
 7.

Terry Gibson will tell on Talksport this afternoon how he thinks British clubs are paying over the odds for La Liga players. May well be worth listening to !!!!!!!
Since when were Juve in La Liga....?  [;)]
It may be beyond your comprehension but it may be that the same principles apply regarding agents, financial corruption etc, bearing in mind that we may pay 8.5m plus extortionate wages for an ageing journeyman.......
Extortinate wages being roughly equal the amount Grant Holt and Chris Martin combined were being paid. If you are going to talk hyperbole, try and have it at least grounded in fact.
So you know for a fact what Grant Holt and Chris Martin were paid? And you know for a fact how much Quag would have been paid? If so, please share, would love some ''grounded facts''.
 8. Sounds like a figure of ridicule in Argentina, where he is nicknamed ''The White Drogba'' (ironically). Looks a little bit like a certain Norwich legend here though: http://www.sempreinter.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Maxi-Lopez.jpg
 9.

they are on a different level as they have substantially more finances than NCFC
Spits hot beverage out over the screen, to see if I can read that any differently. Wasn''t the big troll in Sam spitting his dummy because they nearly couldn''t get a Caroll because of the financial fair play agreement but some how managed to do it? They are riddled in debt and not well managed. Love to see their bubble burst (someone had to say it)
They were at their worst point when Sullivan and Gold took over, think it was something like £100m+ in debt.Sullivan and Gold have reduced the debt substantially since, but they are still a very long way from being debt free. They have gambled by mortgaging their future TV revenues. That alone reduces their spending power substantially. Don''t know how many years that will impact them, but safe to assume a few years at least. They definitely do have ''big club'' potential, but not for a very long time. We have much greater short to medium term potential to pose a threat to the top 6 I''d say.
 10.
they are on a different level as they have substantially more finances than NCFC
That''s rubbish, in March they took out a £60m loan against future TV revenues to consolidate some of their debts. They are one of the most indebted teams in the league. They don''t pay players any more than us, Andy Carroll is the only exception. Gold and Sullivan are tight like Mike Ashley (although necessarily so because they were almost insolvent when they took over). We are in a much healthier position than West Ham. Their situation will improve when they move into their new government subsidised stadium, but for now they remain broke.
 11. Wouldn''t swap our defence or goalkeeper with theirs, but they do have a few excellent players who would walk into our team.Kevin Nolan is the goalscoring attacking midfielder that we desperately need, Diame is head and shoulders above Johnson and Tettey as an anchor midfielder. And let''s be honest with ourselves, Andy Carroll is an excellent striker and we have left ourselves with no aerial threat. Apart from those three, and perhaps James Tomkins as a challenger to Michael Turner, wouldn''t be interested in any of their players.Without the four players mentioned they would be a bottom three team, but those four would be seriously valuable to us if they were here. I''m actually really worried about our lack of aerial threat now.
 12.
The agent would say that. He''d prefer any move over no move at all. And he knows his client sitting in the reserves is only going to devalue him.
True that, he wants a big slice of the signing on fee.
 13.
He is a gamble at 4 million and we should not pay a penny more. Nobody has any idea if he can cut it in the prem.end of.
Every striker within our budget will be a gamble, including RVW. Any player from Europe, the SPL, or Championship is a gamble. In fact, even signing players from the Premier League is a gamble, if in doubt just ask QPR. You pay double the wages for a PL player and sometimes you find that they just aren''t hungry enough anymore. At least Hooper is hungry and wants to play for Norwich, that is more than you can say for somebody like Darren Bent who will care only about how much his last pay day is worth.
 14.

And I can''t believe that a professional footballer in a European country has never heard of us - that is just nonsense and a smokescreen. If he really, genuinely has no knowledge of Norwich City as a football club then he is a very stupid, unprofessional man and I want nothing to do with him. Its nothing to do with arrogance - just basic knowledge of the industry you work in. It would be like Grant Holt admitting he had never heard of someone like Getafe or Braga. We are on their television 6 times a year for heavens sake!
No it wouldn''t as Getafe are a solid midtable team in Spain and Braga have played in the Champions league it would be more like saying haven''t heard of Guingamp or Evian in France. Or Augsburg or Nurnberg in Germany. Get the idea? Norwich are really very small. Haven''t achieved anything special. It doesn''t matter how many times on the television it''s there is nothing to make us stand out like say Swansea.
Why do Swansea stand out more than us? They''ve won less than us for God sake!!! We are a fairly small team, but we aren''t tiny! If we played against Evian or Guingamp, we would win by a very comfortable scoreline, so I''m really struggling to see what you are saying?!
The one thing that I can think of is Michael Laudrup. It is always easier to attract players if your manager was one of the best players of his generation.
 15.
toivonen agent has said he doesn''t know why he won''t join Norwich, could be something in this still
I think we should give him a deadline then. Sign by next Wednesday or we move on to another target. Can''t we bring Tim Cahill back?
 16.
some one at work today was talking about "resell value" of players... I cant understand how people think we need to sign players simply to sell them on...we should be able to answer the phone, hear its Manchester united, and just laugh and hang up...we are a big club.. not a tin pot side... lets start thinking like one.
Sometimes players demand a move, and when they do there is no point in keeping them. e.g. Grant Holt.
 17. West Ham in the mix? http://qprdot.org/viewtopic.php?t=69060&sid=aeac0dcdcc14be0455a0a10f55653020
 18.
Of course it does Chip. Some fans have just failed to come to terms with the fact that we are not a selling club any more and we are now mixing with the big boys, they obviously can''t come to terms that we will have ONE player in our playing squad who will have limited resale value. Clearly they want us to sell our best players in the near future. Smells of little Norwich to me (a phrase I hate using)
Every club is a selling club, if the price is right.
 19.
Does the same risk not apply to younger players too? Not all of the 23/24 year olds we buy will be sold for a profit. RVW could conceivably be a flop and sold on for peanuts. Also do you not think every team needs some experienced players mixed in with the young ''uns?
No harm in a leader or two, but it isn''t clear at this moment in time whether this man even speaks English.
 20.
It was aimed at Fram''s last post.
Ah... good to know.
 21.
If the PL breaks up the universal package model and offers individual packages then the money the broadcasters recieve from the big club games will dwarf those of clubs like us - so why should we receive an equal cut ? In fact many broadcasters will simply bid ONLY if they can cherry pick the best games.
It''s already unequal, Man Utd received £21.1m more than QPR last season, not only due to their 1st place league position but also because 24 of their games were featured. We had 10 games featured. So what you are saying is that something which is already unequal will remain unequal?
 22. Yeah but he was probably about 45 by then, Nigerian players are famous for lying about their age. They all play for the Nigerian Under 18''s when they are about 25 years old and then sign get a club in Europe with their fake documents.
 23.
No it''s not just you. Pure gobbledygook!
That''s not very nice. http://www.goal.com/nl/news/213/eredivisie/2013/07/16/4122197/sch%C3%B6ne-jo%C3%ABl-staat-er-als-het-moet
