I feel it is sad that it is almost impossible for clubs to be on the rise any more without a significant wage bill. I always felt so proud for both Norwich and Swansea that they had managed to truly rise from the depths of the lower divisions with teamwork, spirit and a ''low'' wage bill. But it seems that without being able to pay stupid (and i mean STUPID) wages for players and staff, you will lose them to mediocre (Liverpool and Villa are hardly what they were years ago) teams simply because they are willing to flash the cash.
