  1. Lets hope Southampton make a really bizarre managerial appointment and there is always hope when you are playing in the same league as Man City
  2. Ok, Doherty worked his guts out today but he falls into the Rob Newman category of centre forward. he has limitations, most of all his first touch. Svenson has been out of sorts..... If we haven''t got a natural "big" centre forward who is in form why not change the system and play without one? Centre Forward is the weakest link in the team so why not play to our stengths instead - play thru the midfield onto mobile (but short) front men to get behind defences (Jarvis, McVeigh, McKenzie?) Remember Mike Walker trying it early in his second spell when the only natural forward at the club was Flecky - we had Eadie, Johnson and O''Neill bombing past the defences and for a while it worked. Thought the midfield looked v soldid vs Spurs, Safri passed the ball well, but thought we would have caused more problems from the start with McVeigh or McKenzie starting instead of the big guy upfront. Just a shame theres no Malky for height at corners
  3. He hasn''t really excelled in the Scots blue jersey recently either.I think in the first two games the whole team were rushing their passes and giving it away too easy, the others have since learned, maybe Holt will follow. Nice to see Safri holding the ball and looking before passing
  4. Re Malky - I think its good to have a manager who strives to improve the team and move players on. Its just the timing of it that bothered me, couldn''t it have waited till January when the window opens.
