  1. Again, yawn. Nothing stopping anyway singing and flag waving. Which loads of people did today.
  2. Yawn. This is just silly and childish. All the flags are made with the appropriate fire certificated materials. Come and join us in the Barclay for a game, wave a flag, then tell us they're poor quality.
  3. Ah I see this whole debate has been ignited again. Brilliant. For clarity. 1. The full 200 additional flags, plus a load more, were laid out on Boxing Day. If anyone thinks 50 or 60 were being waved a swift trip to the opticians is in order. You can't make people wave them, but I'd estimate between 400-500 were in the Barclay. 2. We are ambitious, but have to work within the parameters the club have set us. Anyone who wants to know more is welcome to answer specific questions if you like. We have out many suggestions out there which can't happen for various reasons, but we'd be disappointed if the Lower Barclay wasn't full of flags by the end of the season. 3. Til - you really do seem to like to comment on what we're not doing/achieving. If you have suggestions, please let us know. 4. We're always after volunteers to help put out and collect flags pre match and at half time. Get in touch if you'd like to help. Much love OTBC
  4. I haven''t been on here for a while, but I see it''s the same old sea of bitterness that it often can be. For the record.... The original four CITY flags were supposed to be part of a much larger display, spelling out ONE CITY STRONG, logistically that was difficult so a small display was opted for. We still have all the flags for that display in the future though. That display was then followed up with a few more egg and cress flags and a Gossy banner for the Boro game. It had 93/94 flavour specifically as this was to mark the 25th anniversary for the first European match against Vitesse. All of the larger flags have been made by professional manufacturers to comply with fire regs. They also all have to be signed off by the club in terms of content. The production of these, and getting the content signed off, takes time. We''ve spent a fraction of the money we''ve raised, and intentionally so. It has to last all season, and there are definite plans in place for large surfer style banners in the future, while we also have a fair amount of smaller yellow and green flags on order from a supplier. We''ll also look to do a card display or two for the Barclay. FYI - these flags aren''t cheap, I''d invite you to look on any respected manufacturers website for pricing. footballflags.co.uk is a decent one. For something that covered the whole Barclay you''d probably need about double the amount we raised. You also have to factor in that plenty of these flags need to go up on poles, so it''s not just the cost of the flag itself, but the poles too. The poles have to be signed off by the club as well, for obvious safety reasons, and can cost a fair amount as well. The long term plan is to introduce more and more colour into the stand. However, we have decided to go slowly as this is a cultural change in the Barclay, and one which might annoy some people, so we have to respect that. If people have better ideas or want to get involved, please come and speak to us at a game or get in touch. Email addresses below: alongcomenorwich@gmail.com barclayendnorwich@gmail.com My suspicion is some people would much rather just whine about it on here though. OTBC, and look forward to hearing from you if you have some good ideas we can use. Please email them to us though, as I don''t regularly check the forum. P.S. TIL - did you actually donate to the fundraiser? If not it''s a fairly entitled point of view to be asking where the money''s gone?
  5. Hi TIL 1010, we decided against going for a visual display yesterday because of the fan march, among another couple of logistical reasons. However, we''ve spent some of the money on some flags and banners for future visual displays, the first of which will be in place for the Leeds game. There will also be a large number of smaller flags in the singing section on Tuesday night. This money has to last the whole season though, so we''re still finalizing plans for that.
  6. Thanks - they have a couple of big ones which we may also be able to use for this season too!
  7. HI All Some of you may have seen this on ACN''s or BEN''s social media, but we''ve started a crowd funder to help make Carrow Road a more colourful, and hopefully noisy place in 2018/19. We have a fair few plans for the coming season but to achieve this we do need a bit of money. If you''re interested and can spare a few quid we''d really appreciate it, those contributing £10 or more get an exclusive enamel pin badge (limited numbers though) Appreciate this isn''t for everyone but any help gratefully received. Link below, and if anyone can make it a proper linky that would be appreciated. https://www.gofundme.com/improve-the-carrow-road-atmpshere
