1.
Ok Ok Ascent, calm down.  You really need to develop a thicker skin. From time to time on here we like to have a little joke, and if someone post something ridiculous (i.e. sexist) then they''re going to get shot down in flames.  If, as in your case, you start being abusive and using foul language then you are going to be chastised. There is no need for it!  As they say in the military "if you can''t take a joke, you shouldn''t have joined"
Thanks for the advice. I may have used a reference to a male''s genitals to describe you but I felt that was just reward, at the time, for your blantant disregard to a serious post of mine. Maybe I was a bit wound up due to all of the ''school holidays'' jibes on here and in hindsight may have been inapropriate. For that, I appologise.   I am off now, enjoy the game all. Here''s to a possitive result tonight. OTBC
 2. No worries Macdougall. I can take a joke. I''m just getting a little fed up of all the references to the ''school holidays'' on here. AND to add to the argument, I positively encourage women presenters. Georgie Thompson of SSN is one of my favourites [;)] Right, I''m off to fix a puncture on my BMX so I can get to the game this evening. (that''s a joke btw, I''ll be on the train)

Why? Do you want to meet up for a brainstorm over a pint?
No, thank you for asking.
Probably wise, you shouldn''t encourage under age drinking. Enjoy the game.
 4.
Like the space shuttle Mac .........................[;)]
And just because I wasn''t around for the first launch you feel you can bully me around on here. Well done. I hope you feel so big. For McD, I was referring to a mistake Scooby pointed out on another post of mine. I got the jist of what he was saying here.
 5. I know what he was saying McD P but he has just picked me up on another thread for posting a mistake. The point of the post was very clear. I''m fed up with you lot getting all high and mighty and making out we can''t post if we go to school. My point is as valid as anyone elses on here.
 6.

I no i will get shot down for this but They have a place in the womens game.. Lets leave it with that.   I dont want to see a women presenting, refering mens football   Discuss
Do you think that people should be allowed on this board if they can''t spell, or know anything about grammar? They have a place in school.  Let''s leave it at that shall we?
Oh look out, the grammar police are about again. I think the OP is on a wind up.

 8.
I have an idea, you write the songs, print them out and hand them to the fans walking past the swimming pool on their way to CR, ok, thought not lol [:)]
OK, meet me tonigh 7.15pm and I''ll have your hymn sheet [;)]
 9.

...are pretty poor at the moment aren''t they? What ever you feel about what league we are in and who owns the club etc etc we need to be united as fans and we need to be singing our hearts out for the lads. However, with all the new signings we have very few good songs to sing other that our ''On the ball city'' 25 times a game or ''we''re the barclay...we''re the snakepit'' rubbish''. Even the player songs are a little predictable with the ''Eadie, Eadie'', ''Iwan, Iwan'', ''Deano, Deano'', ''Leon, Leon'', ''Earnie, Earnie'', ''Greeno, Greeno'' originality. Sometimes we plump for the odd ''Oh Jamie, Jamie'' tune. One adopted for Korey Smith at the weekend I believe!! Come on guys can''t we do better?? I''m certainly no song writer but we must have someone within our 24,000 crowds that can come up with some decent chants... Over the weekend I''ve been researching Melbourne Victory and came across VICTORY ROAD to a familiar tune...How about CARROW ROAD?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huVFRhY02ug&feature=related We''re the boys, we''re from the terrace and we''re gonna make some noice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qir8qbVNmmQ Or How about ''We''re the City, at the Carra, we''re Norwich all the way''?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isRikNYW9m0&feature=related  I''m not saying lets rip of another teams songs but can''t we be a little more inventive. These chants here actually fit for us and I quite like them. Especially ''Ole, Ole...Ole, Ole, Ole...we''re the city, from the Carra, we''re Norwich all the way''!! AND ''Take me home CARROW ROAD'' So, come on guys what do you reckon? I can''t get these going on my own!!
Yes you are, you''ve just given four examples of doing just that. Why don''t YOU come up with something original.  And if you don''t like OTBC, one of the oldest songs in the game, then I suggest you''re in the wrong place.
And Melbourne Victory''s attempt is original isn''t it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJP3FflbW90&feature=related Nearly all football songs get adapted from others!

Most football songs are recycled by other teams. I think you''ll find it''s three examples but good attempt all the same. I love OTBC but not 25 times a game. We used to pick Portsmouth up on having only the one song, my point is we need some more. I have made suggestions and admitted I am know songwriter, I am looking for input not pricks like you getting all defensive.
 11.
There have been plenty of suggestions on these boards for new songs, and the best has to be the Goran Maric to the tune of Frank Sinatra''s Love and Marrige. It is hard to get new songs  for players with revolving door on a spin cycle for the last few years.
I agree, that''s why I think we should adopt a few more club anthems like links 1 and 3 above. The players change but hopefully our club will always be here!

 14.
Hope Theoklitos never plays for us again, in his interview he was the typical big headed Australian that did not care and shrugged off his performance. Just a bit worried we have Ben Alnwick stamping his mark as our number 1 and he goes back to spurs soon. Declan Rudd would be our obvious choice but I think we need to search for a keeper, just wish we never let Joe Lewis go......
That''s the point I guess...when Alnwick goes back do we give Theo another try? Do we play Rudd? (Is he ready?) or should we be looking for a new keeper?
 15. SELL Quality on his day BUT that day is far to infrequent to keep him. We are far too one dimentional with him in the team and if he''s not up for it we look lost and lack ideas.
 16. I hope he can come back and be a top keeper for us. I fear he won''t be given a chance though. I stick him in for the paint game next Tuesday. Give him a second chance and if he doesn''t take it ship him out.
 17. Jen_Jen  "No, It''s Rudd, I Took Myself At Dartford! [:P] Oh right, my bad. The eyes are going... So you''re a Theo fan Jen? Is it for his footballing ability?
 18.
Hopefully not! i will keep my fingers crossed and wish on a star that he dont..............sorry i just dont trust him[:(]
I know where you are coming from. He let in 7 but is he really that bad? He still had saves to make in Oz and in front of huge crowds. Gunn was also a very good goalkeeper so should know the credentials he needs. Was it just a mistake on his debut that snowballed? I feel for the guy but the fact he was not even on the bench at the weekend could signal the end for Theo.
 19. I''ve been trying to judge the standard of the A-league to see if League 1 is a step too far for Theoklitos. It''s hard to say really, the standard isn''t that great despite the huge crowds. Even that tw*t Muscat seems to be a star for Melbourne Victory. It''s not that great is it? Some YouTube links below that I found. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnEBaoYm660&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0H3wyPFv6UA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BShbOXc4YUk&feature=fvw One thing is certain he shouldn''t be intimidated by a crowd: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNWsBlmxptw&feature=related Same old Muscat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyldpnfTc6I http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xor1kAFwe0&feature=related VICTORY The Brave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwyH12R89Q4&feature=related   What do you think? Is this too much of a step up for Theoklitos? Will we see him again?
 20.
Didn''t Peter Pointer do that?
In fairness, I think Peter''s style was constant shouting at players. Lambert appeared to pick his moments and would mix the commands up with encouragement for players too. I watched quite a lot of him on the sideline and was very impressed. A very similar style to O''Neil. With Culverhouse contributing too, we had a lot of leadership and direction from the sidelines. Something that appears to have been missing previously.
 21.
Alnwick 6.5 - Not at fault for either goal, defensive errors letting him down. Very vocal, safe pair of hands, did what was asked for him. Otsemobor 6.5 - Scored with a good header, got forward a fair bit however looked a little shaky when their left winger was running at him. Spillane 7 - Solid performance, doesn''t look out of his depth at all, seems to work with Askou quite well. Doc finally has someone to compete with for this position Askou 7 - Would have been higher had he not been tentative resulting in a potential comeback for Wycombe. Great header for his goal though, just great... Drury 6.5 - Looked solid today, his link up play with Lappin was top class but some his passes were sloppy and concentration levels dipped at times. McVeigh 7 - Rolling back the years, some lovely neat touches and great link up play with the strikers, looks like he has more to offer Lappin 8.5 (my MoM) - Lappin came under a lot of stick from fans, but has done himself no harm today. Set Pieces were superb, runs off the shoulder of the full back was causing Wycombe no end of problems, delivery spot on too. Hughes 7 - Closed down the midfield, did a job similar to Clingan last year. Kept the ball moving and was the catalyst that linked everything together today. Bit of an unsung hero IMO. Smith 8 - What a talent this boy looks. He may look tiny but he was winning balls in the air and flying in for tackles. Stunning shot for his goal... doesn''t look AT ALL out of his depth. More to come from him no doubt! Holt 8.5 - 2 good goals, can play with the ball into head, into his body and into feet, both in and out of the box... the striker we have been crying out for for a long time! Cureton 7 - Not many chances fell for him today but certainly has something to offer in this league under Lambert. Could be a good partner for Holt... I think a lot rests on who gets off the mark first, Curo or Cody! Subs - Adeyemi 7.5 - great box to box player, really reminds of Damien Francis when he used to be here. Has a lot more to offer I am sure... McDonald 7 - Had the odd half chance. Their bulky defenders could do nothing but drag him back at times... once he gets a bit more composure could be a great super sub in this league. Hoolahan 5 - Faffed around on the edge of his own box again, almost cost us a goal, can run past players but sadly had no final product. I honestly don''t think he will be missed...
This one is the closest to the mark for me. Although would give Spillane and Askou 6.5. Think the defence needs some work. Two weak goals today and a little shaky and it was only Wycombe. Didn''t Lambert try and sign Cureton in the summer too? Doubt he''s in the shop window as some have suggested. I think Lambert rates hum [:O]
 22. I think Matthew Rush retired early through injury and ended up on the backroom staff for a while. I may have confused him with someone else though!
