  1. Not sure if it''s 12 o clock or not, if so lets get him in the office at 5am with a strong cup of coffee
  2. "Trying to swim against the tide explains why seaman always ran out of the tunnel first at Man City" "Seeing Seaman on the bench will keep the rest of my players on their toes!!" "I hope this one comes off, Seaman could make a big splash at Carrow Rd" "The board must release their grip on the purse strings and make sure Seaman doesn''t slip through their fingers" Seaman traveling South!! Keegan may not release Seaman after all!! Keegan not willing to swap Seaman for a Greenie!!! Seaman shoots up North "I''m fed up with this Seaman mess, why doesn''t Keegan just come clean?" "We never had any trouble sticking a Greenie between the posts, why is it so difficult to stick Seaman there? even with the whole board pulling in the same direction we still couldn''t make it stick!!" "I feel most sorry for Delia, she bent over backwards trying to pull this one off."
  3. Brazil might have done it in the World Cup but no 1st Division striker is capable of lobbing Seaman from 30 yards!
  4. Seaman expected to run out in front of new South Stand erection
  5. No we can''t afford 26k per week but there is a pay limit at WBA of 10k per week, we can match that, even beat that
  6. Even when West Brom were in the Premiership they had a 10k per week wage limit, I wouldn''t imagine they are breaking that limit now they are in Div 1. In the past they have had more clout [ie in the case of signing Hulse] than us because they had a bigger pot of money to out bid us and from the players point of view probably looked more ambitious and more probable to gain automatic promotion. They don''t have that edge anymore, we do!!!!
  7. Not true of corse but think of the endless smutty headlines!! Sorry folks but I couldn''t resist it Did Keegan release Seaman prematurely? Seaman to fill Wortington''s box Keegan wipes Seaman from the Man Cityl team sheet Keegan deposits Seaman into Worthington''s lap Seaman mess leaves stain on Keegan''s managerial record Seaman fills Green''s shorts Man City fans find Seaman release hard to swallow Big mess at Man City as Keegan lets Seaman go Keegan to get youngster in for Seaman
  8. In all my time following NCFC I can''t remember the board being this brave or adventurous, I think it''s time we gave Delia & Co some credit and support.
  9. A serious bid for Huckerby has pummelled me pumpkin!! but Svensson? wouldn''t we be better off loaning him to begin with?? or has me cranium been cranked to it''s limit and I can no longer think straight?
  10. I just wanted to add, the above song isn''t meant to be a cheap shot at Delia, she''s a person I admire greatly and has raised the clubs profile & expectations to new levels in resent years. The song just summed up my mood after the game [one of disappointment] but I''m also a realist, life goes on, the show goes on!!.
  11. They didn''t sign Hux but put up a parking lot With a pink hotel, a boutique, and Delia''s swingin'' hot spot Don''t it always seem to go That you don''t know what you got ''til it''s gone They lost Huckerby and put up a parking lot They took all his goals And put them in a goal museum And they charged all the people A dollar and a half just to see ''em Don''t it always seem to go That you don''t know what you got til it''s gone They lost Huckerby and put up a parking lot Hey Delia, Delia, don''t put away your TV Fees I care about promotion, So leave me the Hux and the McVeighs Please Don''t it always seem to go That you don''t know what you got ''til it''s gone They didn''t sign Hux but put up a parking lot Listen, late last night, I heard the screen door slam And a big yellow taxi took away our man Don''t it always seem to go That you don''t know what you got ''til it''s gone They lost Huckerby and put up a parking lot Hey now, they lost Hucks n Crouch & put up a parking lot.
  12. Feel free Kenny, I don''t mind as long as Joni Mitchell dosn''t mind!!
  13. They didn''t sign Hux but put up a parking lot With a pink hotel, a boutique, and Delia''s swingin'' hot spot Don''t it always seem to go That you don''t know what you got ''til it''s gone They lost Huckerby and put up a parking lot Listen, late last night, I heard the screen door slam And a big yellow taxi took away our man Don''t it always seem to go That you don''t know what you got ''til it''s gone They lost Huckerby and put up a parking lot
  14. Fair point Juggler, I can''t argue with that.
  15. I feel that recent managers at Norwich have been poor, either they have been poor by their own merit or have been assisted by a tight fisted board which made them look poorer than they actually were. In the case of NW - overall I don''t rate him too highly either, [sorry but I''m being honest] I think he''s probably the best of a recent poor bunch but has also been given more time and in some cases more money than most. I certainly wouldn''t rate NW higher than M Walker even on a bad day!!
  16. For anybody who is interested in separating their head from their heart for a second, shares in NCFC are not actually a very good financial investment, nor are any shares in football clubs, end of story. Most clubs rely on a captive customer base which gives a false indication of trade and popularity, in the case of NCFC shares, they are not fully registered on the London Stock Exchange, which means there is no set price when you want to sell them. The way it stands right now is, if you want to sell you have to haggle a price with a potential buyer, a bit like selling a second-hand car, obviously if shares were in big demand, instead of your price per share increasing, the club would just produce more shares and take the trade!! I wouldn''t touch NCFC shares with a barge pole, and before anyone slags me off for missing the point, I know the idea of the share issue is to promote the club, etc. etc. But if the club take all their decisions based on very strict financial lines, why should I be expected to take a different view myself? This post isn''t a knee jerk reaction to the Huckerby/Crouch disappointment, although I must admit I am rather frustrated at the outcome, it''s more a case of putting things into a financial perspective. On the brighter side, I believe there is a silver lining in every cloud and despite the NCFC board trying to sell us dodgy, non profitable shares I believe they will come up with an alternative to Hux & Crouch in the very near future!!
  17. The reason Colin Davey gives for not pursuing his interest in Norwich City - He added: "I have thought about the situation logically and, as I live in Suffolk and have businesses in Suffolk, it would be very hard to support a Norfolk team. Doh!! why didn''t you think of that before then Mr Davey
  18. I know I''m stating the obvious here but it seems all clubs not just in England but throughout Europe and indeed the entire World are experiencing huge financial difficulties. In fact you could probably count on one hand, how many clubs in Europe are not actually in the red right now. The reason - PLAYERS WAGES!! - we all know it but nothing is ever done about it, In fact not only do we all choose to ignore it but seem happy to keep on feeding it, ie, - how many people who were more than happy to help pay Huckerby''s 20k per WEEK wage are on less than 20k per YEAR themselves? OK so he''s good at his job, like all professional footballers but I''m good at my job, probably most people on this board are good at there jobs too but players wages have got out of hand, totally. Realistically how much is a person worth who is good at football? why is a player like Huckerby who can''t get a game in the Prem. earning 10 times more than a Doctor?I think it''s time all clubs World Wide woke up and accept all their problems are 100% down to extortionate players wages. I personally think it''s time to re-evaluate the whole situation and not only cap players wages but also cap the size of squads. ie. In the Premiership and in top leagues throughout the World a limit of 30 senior players per club on a wage between 5 - 7k per week max. [a senior player - being a player who has 20 full games at top level under his belt] In Div1 a limit of 28 senior players and wage limit of 3 - 5k per week etc, etc. I know to some this may all sound ridiculous, but if you stop to think for a while is it!! or is it more ridiculous that a club will pay a player 1 million plus per season to play in their reserves or sit on the bench while the club slowly but surely goes to the wall. At the end of the day the big clubs will still get the best payers but a limited number, not only would this stop clubs suffering huge financial debts but it would also stop clubs stock piling good players in their reserve team. The end result - players like Huckerby/Crouch wouldn''t be sitting at home every Saturday afternoon in Manchester or Villa but playing for teams like Norwich, they would be earning 3 -5k per week [very respectable for a kid kicking a bag of wind around] the cost of buying a player would be a fraction of what it is right now, clubs would make profits, even small clubs, and the best bit, we as punters would pay perhaps £7 per game!! Am I being unrealistic or perhaps idealistic, or is this the way ahead?
  19. Perhaps I don''t understand South Norfolk humour but I do understand insincerity when I see it!!
  20. It''s a good job he sat beside Peter Crouch''s Dad, imagine sitting behind him, [assuming he''s as big as his son] he wouldn''t have seen a thing. - Seriously though, perhaps we haven''t seen the last of Big Peter, lets see!.
  21. "I''m going to buy a football club. If not Norwich, I will have to go to Ipswich". - Nothing like a bit of commitment then Mr Davey? Perhaps you need a lesson in local culture and footballing traditions, followed by a lesson in PR. followed by a one way ticket to Portman Rd. The thought that such a fickle and poorly uninformed man is hoping to replace Delia as the figure head at Norwich is enough to make me choke on me dumplings!!
  22. I actually meant - I like to Think I wear the trousers, but Ironically, I, like most married guys would go along with what she wants,[with a bit of luck so will Hux] so metaphorically speaking she is wearing the trousers, the clever trousers!!, compared to my sorry arsed grey ones. And I actually meant I was about to do the washing up to prove that point!! Perhaps my writing skills aren''t so good and I''m confusing people, never mind perhaps her clever trousers will rub off on mine - phhhhwwwwwooorrr now there''s a thought!!
  23. I think somebody has quite correctly pointed out the importance of player power and at the end of the day it isn''t just down to KK at Man City and the biggest offer which will necessarily decide the future of Huckerby. I think another point is, you can''t underestimate the wishes and feelings of Mrs Hux and I don''t want to over analyse too much with this but Keegan has said himself that ''Huckerby''s wife and Kids are very happy down there''. I''m not sure about the rest of you but in my house although I like to think I wear the trousers, when it actually comes to moving house those same trousers invariably end up heading in the direction where I believe Mrs Boubepo and the Rug Rats will be happiest. But other than that I wear the trousers ok!! - ''WASHING UP'' - yes, coming dear!
  24. I think it''s fair to say everybody on this board wants NCFC to be successful, we all have different views which stretch right across the risk taking spectrum - from the overcautious to the reckless being at the extremes of that spectrum, but all views are important and should be respected, after all we all share the same dream - Norwich in the Premiership!! For what it''s worth, my view on NW, is, I appreciate he has done a relatively good job, especially if you compare our general position when he took over to where we are now. But,I still and often feel that he regularly makes tactical mistakes and this is the worst bit - he doesn''t appear to learn from them, That worries me more than any other thing going on at the club right now. As for Delia [and the board] she has a fine business mind and no doubt wants Norwich in the Premier league more than anybody. The rest of us can only speculate on how much money can realistically be raised, prised from individual bank accounts or borrowed from banks, I honestly believe all will be done that can be done.
  25. I think if we forget our Anti Ipswich attitude for a nano second and compare George with Nigel, you would have to say that GB is the better manager in most areas.NW may have the edge Getting the most out of the players physically but then if you gave Saddam Hussein a big stick he could get even more out of them, we would probably be in Div 3 within 2 years, but at least some people would be happy that under Saddam we were getting 101% out of the players!!
