  1. Having read some of these threads today and seen comments in the Evening News I cannot for the life of me understand how some people are seeing the appointment of Gunny and his team as a ''cheap option''. I''m well aware that a lot of people liked the idea (as I did) of getting Aidy Boothroyd and possibly Malky Mackay as his assistant, has it escaped everyone''s attention that Mr Boothroyd is currently unemployed and any compensation required to get Malky away from Watford is hardly likely to have broken the bank. Indeed there may well be a price to pay for getting Dixie away from Brum and Chippy back from Oz (a plane ticket and some relocation expenses at the very least). As for the other names in the frame, Ince, Robins etc etc - all either unemployed or at lower division clubs and not going to cost a fortune. So assuming City will be paying Gunny the going rate for the job which presumably would be the same for all the other candidates I will be intrigued to find out how this can be viewed as a ''cheap option''. Personally I''m delighted at his appointment and those of Crook and Deehan and can see a much brighter future for us, I for one (as a season ticket holder) have been really ''cheesed off'' for months now having to endure match after match of complete dross under Roeder and then to be reminded at every available opportunity that he really didn''t give a stuff what we as supporters thought because we were''nt ''experts''. I''d reached the point after much soul searching where I just wasn''t going to renew whilst he was at the club, well I am now - Good Luck Gunny!
  2. 1st Wizard you are indeed wise, sod the pundits, sod the press, sod the moaners - let''s just enjoy this whole experience and who knows we might just come out of it at the end of this season as a team STILL in the Premier League. If the ''glass half empty'' brigade continue with their moaning, whinging Victor Meldruw approach this may just filter through to the players and have a derogatory effect.
  3. Spot on blacko, totally agree - I wish I''d wrote that (are you my clone?)
  4. Look, stop having a go at those people in the South Stand Varco or they''ll be forced to respond by raising their eyebrows and tutting in your general direction (provided they can stay awake long enough of course).
  5. Peter, you really are a moaning individual - what difference does it make which particular band are playing outside the ground prior to the match. As long as they give some enjoyment to some people then why should anyone object, I don''t listen to them but if it helps create an atmosphere for the many youngsters who arrive early then so be it. What exactly do you expect,Charlotte Church performing her full repertoire or would you prefer complete silence so that other people around you can hear you moaning. As regards to your second point about the programme what exactly does inate mean?,I think you will find there is no such word. You presumeably meant to type ''inane'' as in inane drivel which probably best describes your original post, why not try commenting on the football for a change although probably best not to because I doubt you enjoyed that either!
  6. Lower Barclay, the only place with atmosphere - and where ever they put us on away games.
