Grant vs Worthington: Stats deathmatch
Paul Argent replied to Pyro Pete's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Interesting point, but to early to tell can''t compare 10 games as they’re all against different teams in different situations. Grant has yet to make has mark, and bring in his own players in the transfer window. -
Give Dublin another year?
Paul Argent replied to Hartsons Gut's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Agree with all the comments made, Keep 37DD in defence, keep the doc on the bench or sell him in the January window if we can get something for him, if not free transfer and save the money on the wages bill. We''re still in with a big shout but so is 70% of the Championship!! With only a few points from 5th to 17th. -
Sing when we're winning...
Paul Argent replied to cheshire canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Well said, we all know that the team needs to be improved but that’s not going to happen to January. The attitude of the fans on away matches is completely different to the home crowd at Carrow Road - On the away games there is far less of us, and the need to stick together, sing and make a noise continuously to urge the players and the team on is paramount. The majority of away games over the past two seasons we have lost or not played very well, but the fans still carry on singing till the final minute still proud to be at the game following the team even when we are a goal or two behind (or 5 at stoke) .Some of the away performances would have had half of Carrow road driving down A47 or the A11 after 80 mins. Its takes dedication and most of your spare time to follow the club and travel the country to watch the games .especially after a poor run of results. Booing our own players/team at home is outrageous, there are 24,000 home fans!! So sing up the Barclay and let''s be avin you!! "Follow follow follow" stop the booing get behind the team rather than knocking the players/management.[:(] -
gut feeling........

E) Consistently inconsistent - Remaining in the championship various positions from 16th to failed play off finish. Maybe major investment in the 5th year will take us back to the Premiership (New investors/Directors or maybe some more successful cook books?) Would love the answer to be A) But it more a league of money these days !!! -
Big shout from the Norwich away fans!! There was a 1 min silence before the game today which was well respected by both sets of fans, great game, great result and the best we have looked away from home for some time, passing game seems to have improved along with possession and keeping the ball on the ground, in fact as an away supporter based in the midlands seeing mainly only away games, its nice finally to see Norwich wining away from home, which if we want to get back to the glory days we have to be repeating this more offend. New manager - New attitude away from home? Dublin gave the back four the confidence and strength that has been missing, why play him upfront when he is needed more at the back? The Norwich support was today never stopped getting behind the team, similar to the away games in 2003 Lets keep it going – on the ball city

I remember my first kit, aged 7 in 1977 my dad still has the photograph!! Standing in goal wearing the yellow and green Admiral kit (green arrows along the sleeve) and a leather "orange" ball at my feet. I remember the shirt being really uncomfortable as the material was made from a really rough fibre, playing in it on a cold winter’s day was like washing your chest with a scourer pad!!!! Happy Days (Always remember Fashanu scoring against Liverpool whilst standing in the NEW river end stand !!!)

Doc & Flem Out: A Blessing in Disguise?
Paul Argent replied to First Wizard's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Totally agree, keep Dublin in the back four to stop the onslaught of more heavy defeats. Never been a great fan of the doc, Fleeming seems to have lost his touch over the past 18 months. Change the defence with Dublin included in it and improve the midfield with new players and we might return to former glory.. -
Seems to be rumors flying around about James Hayter http://www.footballtransferleague.co.uk/football_club.aspx?football_club=Norwich New Norwich manager Peter Grant has admitted he is a fan of Bournemouth striker James Hayter. http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=423121&CPID=10&clid=91&lid=4&title=Grant+keen+on+Hayter Could be a good player to bring in - Still think the defence needs sorting first Anybody have any further info? WEST HAM assistant boss Peter Grant heads the Norwich City wanted list as they hunt for a new manager. The East Anglian club have asked for permission to speak to Grant after the sacking of Nigel Worthington last weekend. Hammers boss Alan Pardewdoes not want to lose the talented Scot, but will not stand in his way if he is offered the job. Grant, who played 68 games for the Canaries between 1997-99, is on a hit list that includes another former player, Mark Bowen, as well as Northern Ireland boss Lawrie Sanchez and Burnley''s Steve Cotterill. Does anybody know any thing about him ?? Info from http://www.people.co.uk/news/tm_headline=news-flash--grant-tops-the-canary-hit-list-&method=full&objectid=17892174&siteid=93463-name_page.html
