1. no you are right, its a bit like talk sport radio banging on about the top four teams all the time. How to make a show last lets talk about chelsea again or if Liverpool can win this year with the new strikers. For god sake, there is life outside the top four and the Prem! Its just that we don''t sell radio advertising or increase listeners. The norm as they say. your right about Berbs, sooner he joins man utd the better. (don''t buy a paper tomorrow, he''ll be all over the back 6 pages.)   Cheers All
2. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE jusat sign someone Glen!!!!!! Not another loan player!!! You must have at least 1million + now with shackle gone. Spend it or die in the mid to lower table. Only 4.5 hours left. Get on the phone again. ..... my eyes have started to water up already! (ps. how do we feel about the ex-scummer stowcroft? emmmmmmmm? do we forgive him in a yellow shirt? eeemmmmm?) cheers all.
3.
koimatsuba, you''ve waited so long already without throwing abuse out on here, so why do it now with a few days left! :) As far as JFH goes, I''m certain he Glenn''s emergency option and may well have agreed to join us till jan if we can''t get anyone in. It''s not like having a striker in today or tomorrow would make much difference regarding the Birmingham game anyway, probably wouldn''t start it regardless. Glenn is doing what he is forced to do, which is wait till the last few days when clubs realize if they want to sell, they have to lower the prices on their players or end up wasting talent and wasting money on unwanted wages. Let''s just wait and see how Rosenborg do, tomorrow we might get answers definitely on the Iversen situation but I imagine Sunday or Monday is when we find out who we get. I''m waiting for something to pop up out of the blue, totally unexpected :) That appears to be how our transfers are working this year.
I know Carrow Roeder, but its hard, every day at work I walk into the Stores and ask my fellow work mates, ''any news on the pinkun''. I get the same reply of late, NOWT! Times running out and you are probably right we will get someone by the SEPT 1st, its just so frustrating! Cheers
4. For Gods Sake!!! How hard is it to sign a half decent tall striker or any striker b4 the 31st of August.   Why haven''t we signed Hasslebanik for 1 year yet? Surely its better to have him than not. I know all the jokes, all I''ll say is dion. Why haven''t we got anyone? IF we wait until January this season will be over b4 its started for real. I simply can''t believe that we don''t even have a new striker b4 one of our hardest games of the year against the leagues only 100% record team! Wiz - what happened to my spell for the new striker, its needed even more now? Cheers all. Anyone for an 11th hour signing on Friday for the Saturday game, or will we realise after we get stuffed by Birmingham that we should have bought someone before Friday let alone the Sunday deadline day! C''mon, other teams have there strikers in place! We have some talent but not enough to do anything in this league!
5. No I''m not eating my words. ..... I still think we need MORE players, yes its a good sense of character to come back form 2-0 down, but we shouldn''t be 2-0 down. And glad to hear Pattison and Lupuli playing well. (ok so I feel slightly joyed we came back and I''d put 2-0, it MUST be that wizard spell working wonders.) Still doesn''t mean we are going to win the league or anything. Cheers for the reply.   :)
6. Ok so its 2-1   But with the missed penalty we should be doing better. (why do we always leave it so late?)
7. Oh dear its only 16.36 and we are 2-0 down.   Ok is this posting a bit early or am I like most people have a feeling of DEJA VU! WE must spend big and get two tall strikers!! Or One Tall and then an experinced stiker. I''m not blaming Glen, as I don''t know the full picture regarding funds or lack of them, wages levels etc.. All I know is that the longer this goes on the nearer the bottom of the league we will be than the middle let alone the top! That only spells disaster as Players won''t want to come to a lower championship side, confidence will drop and the season will become a struggle. I know its all doom and gloom, but we had a week to get another striker or two, we had one training with us, and yet we do nothing. I asked for a spell for WIZ but that didn''t help either. (ggod try though WIZ)   Please NCFC look at this situation and Bl**dy pull your socks up and SPEND the dosh. (£20 million anyone?) Cheers All
8. Excellent Work Wiz, at last I can have some hope with away games and our poor strikers. Not that I want them to read this and feel that they need more effort!!! Anyway ... I hope that wizard spell book of yours is brewing up another STRIKER spell? As I have requested. I know it may take some time and although I have a day off today, I can''t sit on the PC all day as the wife would have a paddy. Must get on. I''ll check on here later for the spell, hopefully you may have some time in the day to conjure it up. Of course we may get lucky and the sure thoughts in your mind might actually bring a 12.00 noon press conference with the anocement of a new striker(s) at Carrow! But I fear that even your mind isn''t that good. I''ll check for the new posting later. Of course with the state of our funding at NCFC I understand that not all spells do work! Cheers   (god some people must think were totally stupid, got too much time on  our hands, and talk utter crap! The normal then!) (may be speelling errors as in a rush and didn''t bother reading after I typed it!, sorry)
9.
Ah virgins!.........I have many uses for them in my rituals of potent magical spell casting...........hmm?..............I feel a Hex coming on![:D]
Welcome DD.   Before you ask if you do ask, and some people do, I''m not chinese, japanese, asia etc .. I''m from Bradwell, Near Great Yarmouth. I was born in Great Yarmouth and I have been a season ticket holder for 4 years and a fan for over 20 years. (just in case you wanted to know)   Now ... back to the quote above from Wiz: PLEASE wiz can you kick us a spell up for two new strikers? I''d like an experinced one (don''t mind if its hasslebanik) and a very tall solid performance one. (heskey will do) And also to be signing today for Saturdays match! Surely a fine Wizard of your experince and know how can muster that up? Cheers All
10.   "And we have probably still got John Harstons shorts knocking about for him to wear which nearly bankrupted the club due to the sheer quantity of raw material"     .... Sorry John Hartson hadn''t played for ages and was vastly over weight. Hasselbank is not like hartson. I can see what your getting at though, its the gamble you take with the older player, I''d still take it! Cheers
11.
I say get in the experience man if we can, even until January when Iversen is more of a possibility. Why get another youngster in who is not proven at his level what so ever... it will just end out with more people getting on Roeder''s case for bringing in "loanees and kiddy players"
SPOT ON ... Apart from the bit about until January, I''d give him a one year deal (one season). If he''s out of contract and training at Carrow road then hes very much like Chris Sutton was and Dion at this stage of their carrers. I''d give him a shout, lets face it, we had Jarvis, Thorne, Henderson, etc.. and they done nothing b4 being moved on ... at least hasslebanks got a good record. If he''s crap and past it then all we have lost is the wages, if he''s part of the missing link then who knows? I just wonder whether Roeder knows this but is afraid to sign him just yet until after the cardiff game and until he has another striker ready, perhaps a double siging of Hasslebank and another strike being unveiled next week? Cheers All, do we need a poll on this item? What do you think the split would be to have Hasslebank? 50/50? thanks
12.
No thanks, would rather spend a tenth of his wages on a young unknown from a lower division!
So if hasslebank came on with a Norwich shirt on Saturday against his old club, would you think: "oh god what a waste of time, I''d rather have that new boy from Leyton Orient" Sorry I''m fed up of ''nearly boys'' and ''there up and coming''. He may be old but Hasslebank has played in world cups, Fa Cups, Prem League etc etc.. But you are right about the price, lets make him work for his cash. Cheers for the reply.
13. Before you all shout at me for posting this,   Words of Old git, too fat, too short, had his day, just looking for a pay day etc etc etc ... Is he not worth a pay per play or similar deal? I believe a chris lakley (name maybe slightly wrong) wrote an article in todays EDP regarding the older player in the Championship, Dean Windass 39, Teddy Sheringham 40+, Dion Dublin (GOD) 38, Gary Speed etc etc etc .... Was very good and hightlighted the need of experince in a team. Perhaps hasslebank is worth a 20 - 30 min spell at the end of a game if things aren''t working out. Lets face it he wouldn''t have missed the open chance that Cureton had at the weekend against Blackpool!! Remember the doubters to Dion? Ok so the stumbling block would be Wages, why pay him 15k+ a week and not Hucks? Well to be honest I don''t really care about Football politics, I only care about winning, and if he scored against Ipwsich to win the game in the last 10 mins, then everyone would be chanting his name all season! Worth a Gamble? Thats up to Roeder, I still thing we need  one or two tall strikers as before, its just with someone who has more experince than Dion, should we just let him train with us then walk away? If the price is right then lets get him. We might regret it come May.   Cheers All
14.
This really is the problem with some of you fans, some guy says Pattison played well and all you do is take the p*ss! For Christ sake, surely this is good news, the much berated player actually gets a good review and all you do is moan, no pleasing some of you is there?
cheers for the support, I know what you mean exactly.
15.
>My MOTM was Patterson, played well, got the ball wide several times, passed well. Had spome PASSION! You are joking, right?
No I''m Not Joking!!! Patterson had a lot of the ball, playedwell, if you didn''t think he played well then you must be blind! Anyway ... Its was a very average day, we should be beating teams like Blackpool, very average indeed.   Cheers
16. EMMM .... Blackpool hardly had a shot on goal, our defensive back two look far better than DOC and Shacks and I hope they continue to play well. Our midfield were average, Clingan Ok, Fozzy OK, Wes Hoolahan seemed to try too much rather than attack, he should play wider and then come in with his speed. My MOTM was Patterson, played well, got the ball wide several times, passed well. Had spome PASSION!   Unfortunatly as a team we just don''t gell at present, and the front two are too much alike. Lupuli (or whatever his name is) is a better player than Cureton, and couldn''t do anything about Curetons complete miss of the goal when 1 on 1 with the keeper. It was just too much of a reaction shot/nudge. The other striker Korma (of whatever his name is!) came on far too later, should have been 75-80mins into the game not 88 mins! What a waste of time! Anyway we need  2 new strikers of experince and height, with a bit of weight about them to command the box. Someone to aim for at goal kicks! I''m sick of cureton waving his arms after he has missed as if hes trying to justifiy it in his own mind or to others, just get on with it, shoot, stop the fancy flick-ons!   Time will tell, I just hope that the home games aren''t all like the first half as if so I can see some boring cold winter Tuesday nights coming at Carrow road. We all know that 11 new players won''t gell straight away, the problem is that with the Cullum affair and the exit of Huckerby, unless results start to come sooner rather than later, the Norwich Fans/supports WILL turn on the board at the games and then distabalise the entire team even more. Its going to be like walking on thin ice, until we get results. I for one hope whatever happens NCFC come out better than when it all started. (I can almost see Mr Cullum sitting at home contemplating when to make his next move?)   Heres to the rest of the season, Goals, more Goals and some points on the board ...   Cheers All
17. I''m Gutted.   Like 95% of Fans, this CUllum deal what ever it all was is now over. Or is it? Perhaps this is just the start of the fire burning.   Perhaps cullums match has lit the bonfire?   If and its a big if, we play average and, and to be honest with the current sigings and lack of a squad, we will do. Then the fire will grow until it burns all those too close to it in the board. Fans WILL protest, the media WILL hype it all up. And sitting in the wings and getting cheers when he shows his face at the club will be Mr Cullum. This won''t go away quickly.   Time as they say will tell the tale. I just hope for the club that the fans get the full story and not just some headlines. This club deserves good football, we have a good manager, lets not pi** him off as well. Cheers All
18.
Believe me the amount i stated at lunchtime of 20 million is correct and the individuals who make up the ingredients are correct but it is not a cake that is being baked but a stick of dynamite. Smudger and wizard are going to have a field day. Before anybody at Carrow Road  puts two and two together and comes up with five as to who my source is,it is not Archant related. Loose lips at a wedding reception a couple of weeks ago by a club employee would be far nearer the mark.
For me 20 million is good but still peanuts in todays football world. We need a ''Peter Cullum'' to buy Norwich City Football Club with his pocket money. Then Invest £100 million to get us in the prem and stay there. £20 million will help with the debt, mabe upgrade the city stand, but it won''t get us the Championship title. QPR/Birmingham/Reading etc will take that. Even will relegation they are all heathly clubs with some payments due for 2+ years yet. We are skint, and 20 million won''t make us promotion ready. Ok I''m not complaining, but we need a MASSIVE take over from some one before I get really excited.   Lets Hope tomorrows head lines will be of the ''cullum'' type and not the 20 million type.   Its all good though.   Cheers All
19. Sorry, finished work at 5.30 got home by 6.30pm Hope it s good news, time will tell. New season, new owner, new players, new kit, new city stand, and then new league!!! I''ll calm down now!!! Cheers Anyway
20. LINK AT BOTTOM:   Hi all, I know this maybe old but the date states 9am, 26th June 2008. So its not that old.   After searching on google for any transfer news I spotted this article? Wouldn''t it be great, I know a lot, if not every fan would want this move, I''d still like delia to be invloved somehow in the club, but to see this go through would be great. All those Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea fans in Norfolk who say ''why do you support a crap club like Norwich''. I could finally say, just you watch us now! ''Where were you when you were sh*t!!'' ( I don''t have to justify why I love NCFC) Anyway, we can but dream.   Cheers All   heres the link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/low/football/teams/n/norwich/7474748.stm Cheers All
21.
And in from The Guardian... Norwich have beaten Old Farm rivals Ipswich to the signature of Shola Ameobi for £3.5m
IF this is TRUE where? Where? where did we get 3.5 million from. And if we did get it from the Turners/Delia etc. ... WHY WHY WHY have we spent it on ONE PLAYER?   I know 3.5million is not a great deal in todays market, but when you are meant to be skint and 19million in debt it is a lot!!! IF SOMETHING GOING ON that we don''t know about, board or money/investing? Article in Papers about Cullum? If and its a VERY BIG IF, we do get someone like PETER CULLUM, a lifelong Norwich man and fan buying in, then this would make my week. AT Last I can tell all those mates and faimly that say'' why do you support crap, never win anything, sides?'' to finally shut up as were coming after them in the Prem Soon. I love NCFC, win, lose, skint, rich, top bottom ... city til I die!!!   Cheers All
22. HI, just got back from hols, cheers for the replies my worry is that we miss out on transfers to other clubs, by trying to get the player too cheaply and farting about with add-on deals extra.   Thyen like ''ebay'' another richer club comes in with a complete offer that the club can''t refuse and we miss out again.   If we rate the player then just get him! I know we can''t throw money at transfers, but we must close deals down quickly. I feel that we try to get the player at a bargian basement price, refuse to budge on the price (like the tiny affair) then lose out to others.   Cheers All
23. perhaps I was living in a make believe world ... I thought Gled would be fine, spend spend spend and then with the new squad we could push for a top 6 place.   Ok, its only June, but with clubs like QPR, Nots Forest, and the Scum all spending millions on ONE player, I can''t see US spending the same.   That doesn''t mean that money buys you class. Ok Earny can score hatfull s at this level and he will for forest, but he did for us and we didn''t win the league! And Ipsh*t (look like) spending £4 million !!!! ON shola Amobi. (far too much money). But like QPR they have a ton of cash to spend anyway. What I''m trying to say is ...   Glen MUST be frustrated, he must be throwing every little add-on clause and extra into the pot to try to perswade the players to come. We can''t spend 4 mil on ONE player. We haven''t got 4 Million for the whole Team!!! So I fear its loan players (MAX amount) the best Glen can get from the PREM, and the best of the Championship/Prem he can afford. Lets hope we can get what we want for the right price. JUST think .... Suddenly Norwich make a bid of 5+ million for two Prem players, the Turners give NCFC 40 million+ from there share sell off and we win the league. WAKE up ...   Oh well ... there nowt I can do but support them what ever happens. UP the city ... Come on Glen.   Cheers all - have a nice summer.
24. Good Post   But do you think that Glen will want the Ghost of Darren Hucks playing in the summer season even for a tribute? Alos will the New side want this that sign Hucks? Good Idea, just don''t know if it will work.   Cheers
25. Whats up, if my posting was more contraversal (spelling) THEN MAYBE  I''d get some more replies? Anyone else agree with my opinion?????????   Cheers All who have replied
