  1. You seem to turn all giddy snd damp-eyed at the whiff (stench?) of celebrideeeee. Do you think we should add Jimmy Krankee to the board?
  2. All three are also true of thousands of others. And they also share with Fry the common factor of knowing Jack all about football and should be no where near a boardroom.
  3. I don''t give a toss about away fans. Apart from hoping they miss their trains or break down. Nor do any clubs. Not now, not in the past. Quite right too. Actually, I''d go further. Footy was far more exciting when just getting to and from the ground safely felt like a major accomplishment. It posh types like you - the new fans who only turned up in the premiership era who have killed atmosphere at grounds. If you don''t like it, turn the stream you''re watching off and do some gardening. Or stick to rugger.
  4. Why would it not be "for real"? What is the point if having some random celeb luvvie on the board of a football club?
  5. Just opened my copy of the annual accounts/notification of AGM. One of the motions is to re-appoint Fry and McNasty. Sure the latter will go through unanimously. But what about Fry. Other than the odd tweet what does he do? I''ll be voting against his re-appointment. Will anyone else (a question to shareholders)
  6. Absolute bollocks!! Just got back from Hillsborough and the announcer (quite correctly) welcomed "our team Sheffield Wednesday" before game and when they returned after half team. If you want to applaud the other team, stick to your posh rugger. I''d rather greet the visitors with a mass chorus of "you might as well f**k off"!
  7. Couldn''t agree more. A breath of fresh air after that useless tit BJ and the hapless Vardis. A calming influence who is capable of picking out one of his own team.
  8. Don''t remember them applauding Jimmy Rimmer. They did give him a good coining though. Real fans don''t applaud the opposition. Ever. Thats strictly for posh rugger types. And plastics.
  9. Real fans know who we''re playing. Only plastics turning up for a freebie once in a blue moon have to be told who the opposition are as the teams come out. If you''re confused, just cheer for the team in yella and green!
  10. We''re out of the cup. And I the greater scope of things you may say "so what"? Yes, the league is important but I think its a great shame the way our domestic cup competitions are treated. If the FA Cup has lost its lustre, the League Cup has become a sideshow. And given that it represents our club''s only notable silverware that''s a real shame. Given the two games a week nature of the Championship players do need to be rested and the squad used to its best potential. But do we really need to rest the entire first team starting XI? The Milk Cup final at Wembley is one on my favourite memories. Personally, I''d like to go to another cup final. If we teat these competitions with such disdain, that''s not going to happen.
  11. Sounds good. By way if a quick recap, how many goals has he scored this season?
  12. Is he the new Holt? It certainly looks like it to me! For those who had their heads turned by the big money signing of the Big Bad Wolf (ad still cling to the belief that the team just didn''t make the most of his particular brand of football genius) its time for wakeup call. This is what a centre forward looks like, this is what a striker does. Scores goals for fun, physically dominates the opposition and gives 100% to the final whistle - the 20m sprints to close down defender or challenge for a 50/50 ball. Personally, I''d like to see Lafferty played along side him in a central berth. Grabban may yet turn out to be a flash in the pan - a purple patch at very start of his Canary career followed by little else of note. He is far too profligate in front of goal, he waste''s chance after chance. And way down the pecking order is the massively over-rated Hooper. Hopefully he will follow Wolf out of the door some time soon.
  13. A binner eh? Or perhaps I just don''t rate Hooper (fit or otherwise). As things stand, he''s down the pecking order in my book.
  14. Perhaps we should try the old Lambert approach and play Grabban, Jerome and Lafferty in a "we''ll score one more than you" formation.
  15. The stats don''t lie and Grabban has got off to a flier (although he is by no means a clinical finisher) but I''m not convinced playing him in a lone striker role makes the most of what we''ve got. He is no target man. Jerome was a revelation on Saturday, his introduction turned the game, he has to start tomorrow night. I''d also like to see Lafferty given a chance in a more central role where he would be more of a handful than stuck out wide. It''s a long hard season and injuries will take their toll but in the short term I don''t see Hooper doing much apart from bench warming.
