Surfbird 1 Posted April 30, 2014 Mourinho said: "Football is full of philosophers, people who understand much more than me. Amazing."But the reality is the reality. A team that doesn''t defend well doesn''t have many chances to win." Perhaps Hughton would have done better not to listen to those critics who demanded he should play 4-4-2.Anyone who watched Liverpool v Chelsea and Real Madrid v Bayern (round 1) would see the importance of defence. Kangaroo Court 0 Posted April 30, 2014 I don''t think many people did say he should play 442. One striker is what most teams play without the dire negativity that Hughton served up. In any case there would have been fewer complaints about the defensive tactics if they had worked but they didn''t. Chelsea defend and then deliver a knock-out counter-attack. When did we ever do that?
Tetteys Jig 830 Posted April 30, 2014 They have pace, we don''t. They have Eto''o, we have RVW, they have Hazard, we have Snoddy, they have Oscar, we have Howson, they have Ramires, we have Bradley Johnson.
