lake district canary 4,531 Posted May 19, 2013 This season was a huge personal challenge for CH. His relative success in the premiership before was with players he knew. His success with Brum and promotion with Newcastle was in the Championship. So this season was a step up for him in every way. The pressure he put on himself to take this job on under the circumstances was imo more than a lot of managers would have been able to take. But he has been strong and dignified throughout. Despite the difficulties, despite unrest from some fans, CH has fulfilled the biggest challenge of his career so far in taking on a club he knew relatively little about, took them on after the most spectacular three year period in their history - and more than fulfilled his brief, beating along the way three of the top clubs, finishing higher than the previous season and silencing his critics in the best way possible. Nice one.

birchfest 397 Posted May 19, 2013 Proof is in the position for me. If we divided that 10 game run with rest of the season it would have actually made for a fairly balanced effort.. and probably have done away with the negativity towards him. Last season we finished 12th this 11th, and that to me is progress.... next season maybe top 10 if Wolfswinkle hits the ground running!
