The ghost of Michael Theoklitos 0 Posted March 20, 2013 How many times / games had John Ruddy been out on loan before he came to us at the age of 24?According to Wikipedia, the answer is 9 times out on loan (Walsall, Rushden & Diamonds, Chester, Stockport (2 times), Wrexham, Bristol City, Crewe & Motherwall) with a total of 59 games. And that doesn''t include the 39 he played for Cambridge where he played as an 18 year old. Means he came to us in the Championship with a great deal of experience under his belt, and the rest is history.''Keepers have long careers. If Rudd stays healthy he still has a good 15-20 years to come. I like that he''s hungry for first team action, but IMO you need to earn your stripes. If he gets to 24 - 25, and then wants to move for first-choice football, then good luck to him. However, I think it''s still a bit early for him to do that. Maybe in a few years time - by this time he might be worth more money to us as well.Either way, what a great problem for us to have!
