flecky76 0 Posted December 11, 2012 Says in the article below!Despite Villa deserving their victory tonight, let''s make things quite clear, this has very little bearing on the league. However, what I would say is that it''s a reminder that we shouldn''t get above our station as there is a lot of work for us to do yet before we can look forward to another year of Premier League footy. It''s why Saturdays match is so important. A victory there and a 10 point cushion between ourselves and relegation, with 15 points more to get from 21 games would be a very nice position to be in.So, let''s look forward and hope that the next time we play Villa at home in April, it will mean more to them than it will us. And maybe then the final chapter in this saga will be well and truly written, though there is an awful lot of water to flow under that bridge before we get to that point. Either way, I would be surprised if that match in April isn''t massive for one of those teams. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/live/match-reaction/279912/lambert-humble-after-villa-rout? GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 2,035 Posted December 12, 2012 we know that we have 6 1st teamers to come back into our team in Ruddy,Whittaker,Garrido,Turner,Tettey,Hoolahan, not sure if Villa can say the same. Seem to remember them beating Man City in this competetion earlier this season and proclaiming that they would kick on from it but after Sunderland''s win tonight only goal diff keeps Villa outside the bottom 3.A quick look at their next 3 matches shows that they have Liverpool,Spurs,Chelsea.....time will tell whether an extended run in this competetion is really what Villa need?!!? York Canary 29 Posted December 12, 2012 They''ve got Liverpool away (who are undefeated in a fair few games now and have Suarez back), Chelsea away and then Spurs at home. Certainly a tough run. All about us though and pushing up that table!
