I think people are allowed to offer criticism based on what they saw yesterday. The players deserve our full support when they are on the field and I think they got that yesterday. But I dont get how a fan should be expected to blindly follow their team and hope things will be ok. I am one of those who doesnt take pre season that seriously but a lot of the very poor elements of pre season were carried into the match yesterday. That means that I now do believe our pre season form does become very relevant. Meaning this isn''t just one bad game. The players appear ill at ease with a system which doesn''t play to our strengths both individually and collectively. Obviously people calling for a manager to go after 1 game are being utterly ridiculous but this system has been the culmination of Hughton''s planning over the past 3 months. It is clearly how he wanted to play home and away for a lot of the season. As a player privately at least I would be asking serious questions and struggling to buy into a philosphy which has yielded an embarassing 5-0 defeat and also means we havent scored in nearly 450 minutes of football. And often it is that believe and confidence which is all that seperates a lot of sides in this division. I honestly don''t think Wolves in terms of ability were far off us last season. But the organisation, self belief and tactical awareness were poles apart. Hence our respective finishes.

As I told you on Facebook yesterday, of course your allowed to moan. I moaned to the fan sitting next to me, and my Grandad when I spoke to him about it. I''m not taking every opportunity to insult Hughton, the players, suggest were going to get relegated etc. It was a shocking game, poor performance, no determination, wrong formation, wrong tactics. It was one game. ONE GAME. If we do that another 2/3 times, then I might start saying Hughton isn''t the man for the job, he can''t have an unlimited time to get it right, he needs a response next weekend.
