thebigdub 0 Posted June 1, 2012 Its been 24 hrs since the news!!And im still pis5ed off...Got thinking about it though. and have total respect for the way that Rodgers has left Swansea as opposed to the way Lamberts left us, the guy knew he would be in demand if his team did well, but the guy signs a new contract so that Swansea will do well out of his departure. When we were promoted and Lambert was offered a new deal I would doubt it was the clubs idea to carry on the rolling contract, but cant see why Lambert wouldnt sign a longer deal ala Rodgers with a clause saying he could talk to other clubs if they came in at least we would get what hes worth to us then...also whilst im bitching on sky sports this morning (dont know how true this is sky after all) the reporter said that Lambert told him that he would be leaving 10 days ago... now normally i would think this is cr@p however it does coincide with Holts trasfer request? Just makes me think how lucky we were with Hucks here who showed unwavering loyalty to the club and fans...rodent said we will find new heros well it appears we may but not like Hucks we wont TRUE LEGEND!!!bitch over!!! . alysha 0 Posted June 1, 2012 With regards to why didn''t Lambert sign a longer contract - would Villa have been prepared to pay the type of figure that Liverpool are having to pay Swansea? Having a longer contract would have possibly restricted him in any potential moves. At the end of the day, Lambert was an employer of our club and looked after his own interests, whilst it may leave a bitter taste I don''t think he did anything wrong. thebigdub 0 Posted June 1, 2012 As may be but he also stated he had ambition and when he signed that new contract it was so the club would do financially well out of it when he left... so yeah i do have respect for him, as opposed to Lambert who a week ago states his love for the club then does one!! I love Lambert for what hes done for this club and the three great seasons hes given us but the guy has got his flaws.. I just hope we finish above his new team next season OTBC.... .
