Contracts for our players

Having been off work sick I have gone through the list of contracted players and listed all of the current squad who will eitherbe out of contract or out out of contract but the club have the option of a one year extension

Dury

Whitbread

Rudd

Fox

Jackson 1 year

Korey 1 year

Wilbraham

Ward

Adeyemi

Francomb 1 year

Dawkin

Ball

For me there are a few players I would either take up the option of another year or try and renew contracts. Fox and Whitbred are big players for us. I would also offer Dury and wheelie a new contract for 12 months. I think I would take up the one year options on Korey and Jackson.

What are peoples thoughts on Rudd?

I hope people have found it useful seeing all the potential people that could leave in the summer.

To be honest, not sure more than two of those will leave. The youngsters might as well stay if they aren''t on too much. Unless Lambert knows there not going to be good enough.

Rudd won''t leave, we need three GKs, and Lambert didn''t want to buy one last summer, and didn''t seem to worried when Rudd was injured in Jan.

Whitbread or Ward, I know there were rumours saying Whitbread is off, but I think they were just putting 2 & 2 together and getting 5. He may have already signed a new contract. Lambert likes Ward, so even if Whitbread does stay, wouldn''t be a shock for Ward to sign on again as well.

Not sure about Ball, haven''t heard too much about him recently.

One of the key factors is the 25 man squad - if players like Wilbraham and Drury get new contracts it means 2 less new players being added to the squad. Lambert has been making noises about strengthening all positions and 4 or 5 new faces - this certainly means some of the older players will be leaving.

Depends upon who Lambert intends signing in the Summer.

 

Drury deserves to end his career with us and will not let us down if needed. The revelation that is Wheelie needs to be cashed in on, ditto Jacko. Bust a gut for Fox and Whitbread, who can judge Rudd v. Steer but we need both. I''m not too concerned about the rest. Like I said, it depends upon signings.
