I think holt truly deserves to get it and I don''t see how any of his team could begrudge him of itI would agree more with you if you had said why do we celebrate a golden boot award? Why not the man with the most assists or MOM awards. The award could really go to about 5 or 6 players, all of which would truly deserve it. At the end of the day it is just a competition, although it is hard to call, im sure no player would begrudge another for winning it. The way we celebrate goals show that we have an amazing team spirit, ask any player would they prefer to win promotion or pots, and i think you would find a unanimous vote for promotion.
