nutty nigel 7,534 Posted December 8, 2010 What a story, great find Mike! But that was nearly 50 years ago! Have we learnt anything since? Well not really if you think back to last winter and how Walsall thought that lighting a few braziers on their frozen pitch would be good enough to get the game on. When it didn''t work they tried to blame Lambert for getting the match postponed!
mikewalker 0 Posted December 8, 2010 Surely, in this age of precision US Army weapon deployment and Sky "blimp cam" the powers that be at the FA can combine the two and come up with some kind of napalm bomb which is designed to fall dead on the centre spot and incinerate the ice and snow. Just enough of a blast to do this. No hoardings or spectators must get singed or vapourised, thats vital. They can try it out on Colchesters lagoon till they get the napalm mixture right. SORT IT BROOKING.
Harry 0 Posted December 8, 2010 I wouldn''t trust the US to hit a cows rear end with a banjo let alone the centre spot.

First Wizard 0 Posted December 8, 2010 The local ref who had to inspect the pitch was a family friend, we had a giggle over that at the time.
