Lewie - Holt Our Saviour

Player ratings

Recommended Posts

He looked some what portly from where I was sat in the Barclay... I mean we''re not talking Mr Blobby, but for a pro footballer... he was also at least a yard off the pace and against Southend defenders?.... that''s not good.

neslon was by far MOTM, yeah McNamee beat a player a few times, but still about half of his crosses were poor, and went straight to the keepers hands!

oli J was better than martin last night, and holt didn''t look interested unless the ball came near him!

Forster   6

Martin   7

Doherty   8

Nelson   7   Back 3 kept us in the game

Rose   4

Hughes   5   Had his chance and blew it

Lappin   5   Reverting to the form that Roeder sent him to Coventry for.

Hoolahan 7

Martin   5   Nothing went right for him despite best efforts

Holt 5   Looked unfit and uninterested. Should try to win the occasional header and get himself in the box more.

McNamee 8   Ruel Fox returns!

For what its worth here are my ratings for last night:Forster - 6R. Martin - 6Doherty - 7 Very solid at the back and causes disruption from set pieces in their boxNelson - 7.5  Best of the defence as had too keep covering for Rose also.Rose - 3  Poor positioning and distributionMcNamee - 8  MOM  Excellent runs and crosses throughout, pity Holt and Martin too slow to get on end of most of them.Hughes - 4 Very poor passing, looked a it off the pace.Lappin - 5 Hoolahan - 6Holt - 5C. Martin -5 Subs:Smith - 7 More determination in 15 minutes than rest of midfield showed in whole gameJohnson - 7  Took both goals very well. Some great touches also.Lambert 6  5 for tactics and line up, 4-4-2 with those players just did not work. 7 for the substitutions although could have been a bit sooner.Great to get 3 points  when not playing great, but that seems to be the case a bit too often recently.
