Barclaybred 0 Posted February 2, 2010 I read somewhere on here, hoolie wont be able to handle prem defenders...FFS we dont know that! He is class and loads of our players are now much better players when lambert started to enforce his style and tactics!...Chrissy was out of sorts at the begining of this season, but by late sept had the confidence and skill to not only be lethal in front of goal but slip a sly pass like he did to rose for his winner(not the first time he has used his knack to play a blind ball and create an opening),and these type passes and footballing brain would fool most defenders whatever league they are in..Though you do need players around you to be on the same wavelength....And i atrribute this to lambert bringing out the best in him..so please, unless you are an expert like claridge" theres only 1 place up for grabs for promotion now"..Nov 1st football league show...Please dont judge too early! a1canary 0 Posted February 2, 2010 I think Hoolie can achieve what Hucks did in the game. IF he keeps his head down and his feet on the ground.I don''t mean in regard to Norwich - i don''t think anyone will match Hucks in that sense - but he could have a career in the prem i think. The only real potential stumbling block is his UN-adaptability (if that''s a word). The question of how you fit him in the team, and that''s something that held Hucks back to an extent as well. Did we EVER agree what his best position was? I''d say it was as part of a forward 3, but it''s a debate that goes on to this day.Hools needs to be managed very carefully (and well) too, so a lot will also depend on who he gets as a manager if/when he moves on. With someone like O''Neill, he could be great. It''s not unimaginable either that he could follow Lambert out of the club when he inevitably leaves. Or join up with him at a later date. Archant will probably read this and start a Hoolahan and Lambert to Celtic article!
