Fringe Players

Recommended Posts

I remembered last night that we offered Robert eagle a new deal in the summer, is this correct?  If so why and what do people think of this.  I think he can put a good cross in from the games I saw him in at the back end of  06/07 season I think it was, and numerous reserve games I have seen.  But he has no pace and no strength.  Does anyone think this guy will come good and will he feature this season?

Then there is Luke Chadwick, I was pleased when we singed this guy but hes always injured.  I think hes fit now and he isn’t even getting a look in.  from the games ive seen I think he is great going forward, he can get in good positions and cause trouble given a chance, he works well on the right and gets in good positions, he can also play behind a striker to good effect.  What do people think of this guy?

Just wanted to gain others opinions on the above and see who you think will end up fringe players this season and who should be given more of chance.

Eagle - no pace and a lack of physical presence. Was surprised that Roeder offered him another deal which suggests he rates him but I would be surprised if he forces his way in front of Hoolahan and Pattison.

Chadwick - potentially promising but has been blighted with injuries. I think Roeder has lost patience and faith in a player who is seemingly either injured or recovering. Again, I don''t see him figuring.

Guess you can add Lappin to the list too. Another decent ''footballer'' but lacking pace or presence plus Roeder obviously doesn''t rate him.

Of the 3, I wouldn''t be sorry to any of them move on although Chadwick represents the best bet for first team action
