Matt Morriss 69 Posted October 10, 2007 I backed Grant from the start so im sad to see him go, but at the same time agree it was necessary, right to the end i thought he would turn it around and think he will make a good manager one day, but facts are facts, if you lose against the countrys worst team, that hasnt won for 6 months, somethings gotta give. But what now? We must get an experienced manager in, but will it happen? if it doesnt and we go with Duffy, things could get worse, then where will we be, i really dont want a relegation battle this season as it did promise so much at one stage. With the squad we have we should be fine, i think we have a top 6 first 11 so its really down to a good manager to get us there. But will the board do it? They have spent nothing on the last 2 managers. Worthy was Hamiltons number 2, of course that turned out to be an excellent appointment, Grant was Pardews number 2, and of course was a disaster. You cant blame the board for trying cause it worked last time, but again they didnt spend any money so that would suggest they wont this time.Having said that we all nearly wet ourselves when Bruce Rioch took over, and look what happened there. So perhaps a big name manager isnt always the way to go.But really, who do we go for? Martin Allen? Paul Jewell? What about Geraint Williams? done well at Colchester. Or Phil Parkinson before him, whats he upto?Who do people think the board will get? An experienced manager or another gamble promotion from within like worthy, grant, megson, deehan etc....Whoever it is its got to be good cause weve just wasted a year in our bid to get back to the premiership and were now back at square one again. Icecream Snow 777 Posted October 10, 2007 Well, I think the one thing you can guarantee is that we''re going to choose an experienced manager, or at least one that has achieved something elsewhere.
