The Jinx 0 Posted October 10, 2007 I read a very good letter in the evening news recently basically saying that Delia fell for Grant''s smooth talk, absolutely right. He had no experience and wasn''t right for the job, now we have players a new manager might not even rate so therefore no further forward than we were a year ago.Having said that the players need to take a long hard look at themselves, and the fans deserve better. When we get a new manager in, he must be established and someone who can work without money. We need to give him time - forget about the premiership, we are not good enough and although we have the fan base, just consolidate in the championship for the next few years. We would not survive in the Premiership The board should take their time in finding a new manager. I would like to whoever it is look at the youth set up, we used to have some blinding youth players!! What happened? We''ll be back
Splendid Rush 8 Posted October 10, 2007 I''m not sure about Delia ''falling for Grant''s smooth talk''.Grant was the only person that was approached for the job rather than submitting an application. I know this as one of the West Ham players told me. I tried to get money on Grant to be our new manager before any bookies had him listed! Gutted! It may, I guess, have been the case that he smooth talked her once they met, but if they approached him, and only him, they must have had a fair idea that they were going to give him the job.I completely agree with the rest of your comments (although even though we are not good enough for the prem, I''d be mad to say that I wouldn''t want us to get promoted, even if we got stuffed for a year, the money would be more than welcome!) Splendid Rush 8 Posted October 10, 2007 I''ve never bet on anything. I went into two bookies (Colman Rd and Unthank Rd) and asked if I could bet on him and they all said no. I looked at a couple of online sites but he wasn''t on there either. It''s really not rocket science, I was gutted because I would have got decent odds on him if he wasn''t even listed and therefore would have won money if I''d have got a bet on.Why the hell would I lie about something like that? Think before you type...

NUF SAID!
Splendid Rush 8 Posted October 10, 2007 Well. They didn''t and I take particular exception to being called a liar. You''re probably one of those posters who looks for arguments out of nothing and I''m not going to humour you. What would I gain from lying? the respect of fools like you? Hardly.Respond if you like. I won''t be answering. I don''t need to lower myself to this.
