Steve Mortlock 0 Posted June 29, 2007 Get the season ticket holders on board and sell the only player on the books capable of getting 20 goals a season, for what is a paltry sum. where does this leave our ambition to get promoted, as is replacing Earnshaw with Cureton or Eastwood in my reckoning. earnie could turn a game on its head in a flash and could win us games. first ashton now this, what a joke of a football club, that claims to ahve aspirations of a return to the premiership, get a grip board. how much will a 20 + goal a season striker (at a reasonable age such as earnie and ash) going to cost. But we will get the cheaper option no doubt and struggle badly next year. 3.5 million (clause or no clause) is a complete joke,.

A whole club to carry on his shoulders and a shed load of season ticket holders who have been rooked again.Nice one Delia...you have surpassed yourself. a1canary 0 Posted June 29, 2007
3.5 million (clause or no clause) is a complete joke,.
"Clause or no clause"? Hmm, interesting viewpoint. Do you know what a clause is Steve? It''s legally binding. You can''t just brush it aside. He wouldn''t have signed without it so as a club, what can you do? As usual, it''s the players that hold all the cards these days. That''s what i said about Cureton a few weeks ago. What the players want they invariably get and if Cureton wants to come here we should take advantage and we have done. Derby have taken advantage of it too with Earnshaw who wanted a premiership move.IF we get Eastwood in, i can live with Earnie''s departure.

FramCanary 0 Posted June 29, 2007 Well put Steve - it is a TOTAL disgrace.ITFC supporters (their club should be consulted on benefitting from ''clauses'') are loving this - I should know, I am surrounded by them. I wish I could find it as funny as they do.
Shyster 0 Posted June 29, 2007 This club/board all over isn''t it!Give with the one hand (Cureton) and take with the other. This sell on clause malarkey is just plain bad business on behalf of Delia & co - if Earnshaw wasn''t prepared to join us for a higher clause then we should''ve brought in a similarly valued forward who would - there were alternatives at the time of Earnshaws appointment who could''ve done a job for us.My close-season opitimism is all but spent now. While I feel a degree of sympathy for the season-ticket holders, you must at some stage cease funding your own clubs demise.
