Putting aside our views on the quality of Grants addition so far, i find it quite refreshing that for once that if the Marshall and Strihavka deals go through we will have signed 5 players already early into July which is such a change from waiting for weeks and weeks with transfer rumours for nothing to come about. For that at least Grant deserves credit surely.

I am sure we will get in more players - Marshall will be a big asset and the Strihavka deal also looks promising. When did we last sign so many players before the start of a season?

I think Peter Grant is beginning to turn the club around and good luck to him.  It will be great to see some players with ambition and desire lining up in our colours come the start of the season.

Agreed NC, it makes a refreshing change to see us linked with, and indeed bringing in so many players who are capable of acheiving at this level.

AND AN IMPROVEMENT! Marshall and Gilks for Gallacher et al, Otsemobor for Hughes, Cureton for Ernie(?).Some may argue about Cureton/Ernie, but surely the others are better. And we have cash left over - Zamora is surely unlikely, the Czech possible, but if either comes in place of Thorne /McVeigh there is an improvement.Congratulations to PG and his team - astute signings, and re-awakening enthusiasm among supporters - many now feel that with one or two more - CM and CD, we could go places!

Yes, I have to agree - the contrast between this and last summer''s transfer window is immense. Now, where are we going to get a central defender and centre midfielder from? I''d actually welcome Marney back here if he was going to be able to play in his preferred role - particularly if Safri is actually leaving.
