a1canary 0 Posted April 7, 2007 I''m glad to hear this, assuming he''s right. I don''t think NW was one for spending time doing his homework on the opposition, he was always of the "so long as we do our job it won''t matter what they do" school and i don''t always agree with that. Brown had said before the game that we wouldn''t get to play a passing game at their place (presumably due to the pitch?) and Hucks said we played it more direct so it''s heartening to see us being able to adapt our play to match the opposition. That''s also probably part of why he chose to play Dion up front as a target man instead of Martin.
lucky green trainers 0 Posted April 7, 2007 yes A1, surprised to see 4-5-1 back on the menu given it had fallen from favour, but it appears the tactics were spot on. changing patterns of play to suit conditions and prospering from it undoubtedly gives players confidence in the manager and their game. good to see and bodes well for next season.
