Ex-greenoschin 0 Posted December 16, 2006 Yet another very average game i''m sure we all agree but let''s look at the team out there today:Gallacher.. Just back from injury, not much choice unless you try Joe Lewis Dublin .. Just recovering from a thigh strainDoherty .. Just back from ankle injury and still having problems with his backFleming .. Just back from injury and not match fit having hardly featured this seasonCroft .. Just back from 7 weeks and not match fit, hence not played for the full 90 mins.Etuhu .. Foot injury carried for the last few weeks and quoted as saying when he has to have injections to play through the pain barrier it can cause his foot to go numb (can''t see that being conducive to playing well/effectively!)Earnshaw .. Back from a knee injury - thank God!Thorne .. Started about 4 -5 games in 18 mths , and hardly a decent run in the team. My point being that with a small squad with some VERY average players, it hardly leaves a manager much choice, we spend our days berating PTP but if we''re honest and without the benefit of hindsight, I can''t see many other permutations you could use .Those left out are no better on the whole, don''t know about the Safri omission, but you have to assume there was a good reason, PTP isn''t on a suicide mission leaving good players out for the hell of it ... although I''m sure there will be some out there that will think that! It seems hypocritical to slag off all the players in the squad on this MB and then moan that PTP should be doing better with them - how can he if they''re sh*te? Can''t have it both ways.I for one hope we don''t start the ball rolling with "Grant Out" , he needs time, he needs a chance with a fit squad to choose from .. yes there will always be injuries, but you have to agree it''s been crazy this season, and he needs the support of the board with some much needed cash to fund new players in January. Regime Change 0 Posted December 17, 2006 I''ve tried giving Peter Grant the benefit of the doubt since he came to Carrow Road, but it''s not easy.I''d have more confidence in Grant if he would get rid of Livermore and Grant. As you''ve mentioned, most of the players that played last week had most of the players yesterday weren''t fully fit, and that we don''t have better players in the squad but what the hell do the Academy players have to do to brake into the first team? Martin and Spillaine are certainly no worse that Doc or ThorneHow long is it going to take for Grant to realize that we struggle playing 4-5-1? Why not play Hucks upfront with EarnshawI''ve seen Grant''''s post match comments on the BBC website. He seems to have been more concerned with the way the referee spoke to his players than the performance. I guess he needs any excuse he can find to distract supporters from another piss poor performance. It may be too early for the Grant Out bandwagon to get rolling, but more worryingly, Grant already seems to have run out of ideas.
