Good Enough for Birmingham, but not for us?

Recommended Posts

Birmingham had a good look at a certain ex norwich player earlier this year.  It now looks like they are going to sign him up again.

Perhaps Like Robbie Fowler, he ain''t good enough for that scouting genius Nigel ''hooze is my favorite player'' Worthington.

Oh yeah and for all you deluded ''the Premiership Relegation season was a success'' types:

Boothroyd led Watford to the top flight after relegation to League One was widely predicted and believes his team can comfortably defy such forecasts again. In preparation the first nine training days this month started at 8am and featured three sessions and Boothroyd insists 17th place would not constitute success.

"That would be avoiding failure and I think there is no success in avoiding failure," he said yesterday. "That is probably a really outlandish comment but I won''t be happy if that is the case. I want us to be better than that. I want us to aim higher than that. I think you have to."

Sorry, but I have to agree with Worthy on this one.

Sutton was awful last season for Birmingham, and has always relied on

crosses/high balls to really get the goals. Problem being that we just

aren''t a long ball team (at least traditionally), and now with Sutton''s

total lack of pace to factor in, I think he''d be another high profile,

end of career flop.

Don''t get me wrong, I think he WAS a great player, but now is really

starting to slide. And if you can''t score more than 1 goal in 10 games

with Pennant (Who I think was the most accurate crosser in the prem

last year) giving you the supply, what chance does he have with us?

Leave Chris and his 20k plus a week wages alone, and give Jarvis a run out.

I get your point about Sutton.  If they do pick him up I am sure we will find out how good he could have been.

I must say though your comment I have quoted above took me by surprise!! I don''t know what team you were watching last season.

LOL,

My original statement was:

I admit last season was a bit of a travesty from a passing game POV,

however I think we can move back towards this rather than looking for

this elusive ''target man''.

Indy.
