The Duke of Norfolk 0 Posted April 23, 2006 forget about all the old "he is defensive minded", "he promotes hoofball" arguments, i won''t ever be totally happy with Worthington in charge as i beleive he is not the man to lead us forward and that we could do better. Can you see us getting into Europe or being in the top ten in the Premiership like Wigan and West Ham with Worthington at the helm? i can''t.He might (and i say might) be able to get us out of this league, but i don''t have any confidence in his ability as a manager in the Premiership. We should be forward thinking and that means, as someone has suggested before on here that we should be looking for the next Jewell or Pardew to manage us.I beleive someone like Newell or Boothroyd could be that man. However we won''t get them though and that is what my big fear is.Several clubs are going to be looking for new managers this summer. Most of them such as Wolves, Sunderland, Brum and possibly West Brom are going to be in the Championship next year. One of these sides will snap up Newell or Boothroyd in the summer and reap the rewards whilst we sit back and ultimately fail by putting our trust in Worthington.I can see this scenario occuring next season and it is going to really frustrate and annoy me.Can anyone else see this happening?
