WHY IT'S THE LONG BALL

Recommended Posts

Does Mr Worthington really want to play the long ball game ? I really don''t think so. However, what he has done is bought a midfield that cannot trap or pass a ball.(The sort of stuff your dad shows you in the backgarden, just after you manage to walk). Therefore the team has little option. I don''t like to critisize individuals but if I performed as poorly at work every week I am sure I would be sacked; As would the person who employed me!

Andy Hughes-second touch is a tackle.

Dickson Etuhu- should have signed Desmond Tutu. Most memorable moment; broke a   players leg. I am sure he did not mean it and regrets the incident, but should be ashamed that this is what sums up his season for us.

Yousef Safri-He makes Duncan Fergeson look like an "ever-present". No good having the talent if you cannot stay fit.Maybe it is not his fault but this is business and it''s our business. That''s 1.5 million wasted !!

Robinson. So inconspicuous I cannot remember his first name.Sunderland look a poor team and will not look out of place in this "pub league" and we bought someone they did not want.

Simon Charlton. A freebie who should have been an adequate defender in an emergency. Cannot fault his endeavour but Never a mid-fielder.

"FLEM" great servant to Norwich City but it hurts to see him at right back. He has been a very good centre half, but he does not take the ball in his stride and strike fear into opposing defences. He''s in his mid thirties and at right back because Mr Worthington let Edworthy go and replaced him with crap!

This is why the ball goes long. We simply do not have the talent to give the ball to feet. Unfortunately, it is made worse because we don''t have anyone to win and hold it when it does go long! We replaced Ashton with the wrong sort of  talented player. Earnshaw will score goals at this level, but not playing like this.

Mr Worthington.YOU''RE A LIGHTWEIGHT . YOU''RE FIRED

We would have been great at sunderland yesterday. We would have had no problems with the muddy conditions because we would have bypassed the floor and hoofed the ball in!
