canarybubbles 2,199 Posted June 5 I'm surprised no one - not even cambridge - made a thread about this, but last night Teemu got two goals in a friendly against Portugal. Maybe this questions the assumption that Pukki is well past it? Any player needs a system that suits him. This is especially true of Pukki, who cannot do a lot of the things a traditional number 9 does. Webber's selling of Buendia and hiring of wingers, compounded by the hiring of Dean Smith and the subsequent hoofing of high balls over Pukki's head for him to chase, and then Wagner's reactive structure, finished him for us. By the time he left he was a complete shadow of the player he had been for us.

He's struggling in the MLS this season though with 2 goals in 15 games so if by 'past it' you mean well past his peak, then he probably is, which would be expected at age 34?
