Any avid golf players and fans watching the developments with the Saudi backed Asian Tour trying to persuade the world's best to play in its events instead of the PGA and European backed tours.

Greg Norman says its to grow the game. I think the game is growing very nicely and has become within reach of so many who couldn't have hoped to play 50 years ago. And if that is the reason, why are they not amateur tournaments? Why are they with the richest players anyway?

The game in the far east is thriving as evidenced by, especially in the women's game, the assent of Korean players. If they are aiming at the Middle East then they have to make the game more accessible for all not just the super rich.

Saudi Arabia simply trying to sportswash their appalling human rights record yet again. According to radio 4 this morning even Ian Poulter was being offered £22m to join the breakaway. All very hideous.
