After starting a thread that got a bit feisty on the rumours of Buendia to Arsenal (in which i concede my part) I firmly believe that it was agreed upon our relegation last time from the PL that Emi could leave this time round if he got us back there. His quality is indefatigable and we are not a club who can afford to pay him or offer him the stage he deserves after his meteoric rise. Whatever you think about the 33m deal I have no doubt the add ons and clauses are well structured in terms of how likely Emi is to meet them compared to Arsenal's offer. It is a LOT of money for us and the recruitment strategies will have shifted as a consequence. If we can't show some faith in the guys who found Buendia just because they had one poor season in 19-20 then we don't deserve Webber or his ilk. And if you can't at least wait until you've seen if there actually is a thought through contingency for the sale of Buendia before getting all angry, then I can recommend some pads for water retention. If I could have a signature on this forum it would be: the damage of selling is overestimated by sentimental supporters. We will be fine. Enjoy the season.
