  1. I know many people will say that now he is getting older and it is a big risk but if it makes him stay for the next few years and most importantly next year, it could be the difference in staying up and going down. He is also very much a Kevin Davies like player and IMO Kevin Davies is still very much so a prem worthy player and if anything Grant is a better player. He has also only been getting better and better. He has proved his worth to the club over the first three years and IMO is a necessity both on and off the pitch.
  2. Really interesting. Cheers for that. The Newcastle fans seemed really nice and really seemed to appreciate the work he did there which is a good sign.
  3. Before I start, I would like to apologise for another Lambert post but some of the subjects on Lambert have been shameful. He has done an amazing job at Norwich and without him we may have gone into administration and we could be in league two or lower, but instead we are a mid table prem side. All the people planning on singing songs like "he leaves when he wants" is wrong. Im just as upset that he has left as you, but we should be appreciative of what he''s done for the club and I''m ashamed that there are some people who are slating off Lambert after the things he has done for the club. I too am angry at the way he went about leaving but I still wish him the best of luck as he is a great manager and he deserves more than Villa but we need to get on with it and find a new manager sooner rather than later and now prioritise on keeping super Grant Holt
  4. Would love to see Emnes as provides a bigger stronger Elliot Bennett and still so young so would be nice to see how Lambert would help him improve
  5. Knowing that we spent £10million this time last year and another £5million in January, surely we have more money this time round as we got an extra £6,400,000 by finishing 12th and we should get an extra load of money for staying up in the first place so surely £15million for now and another £7.5million for January and this would allow us enough money for a large bid for Rhodes or Hooper (4-6m) as well as a 1 or 2 million bid for Bridcutt a £2million bid for soon out of contract Snodgrass and that leaves us with around £7million which could be used on Naughton Gunter and maybe Davies (but I don''t rate him) and maybe Henri Lansbury and use the £7.5million on improving areas we need improving most like PL did by bringing in Bennett when we needed defence. However it is all in PL hands now.
  6. Strikers- Emnes- Proved a real talent for middlesbrough and although does not score too many, does a lot to create chances for others. Only 23 and is very adaptable so you could play him down the wing or up front. Very strong and has bundles of pace so would be a very good player and would fit perfectly into the plans of Lambert as he likes to rotate his squad a lot. He would be a very good player, especially against the more physical sides like stoke. However, he cost middlesborough £3.2million a couple of years back and may be out our price range. Rhodes- Strong, quick and born goalscorer. Only 22 and suits the young and hungry player Lambo likes. Could cost a bit but would be well worth it. Possibly the new Holty? Pacheco- I know everyone goes on about the class of the youngster and I cannot reiterate the quality of the player and the potential he has. Only 21 and as he shown in Drury''s testimonial, he is a very hardworking player. Out of contract soon so we could get him cheap or maybe even free. Midfielders- Lansbury- Only 21, talented, hardworking and a very convenient player to have. Can play anywhere in midfield from an attacking role or a winger. Was very succesful in his last spell at Norwich and a real fan favourite with the ''Dougie'' and even scored in Drury''s testimonial. Out of contract at the end of the season and would surely be very interested in joining us. Finally, scored a screamer in a England u21 match. Kyle Bennet- Brother of Elliot, bags of pace, would fit right into the team, only 21 and as Doncaster were just relegated, we could get him for as little as £500,000. Whittingham- The older of the choices, but has a incredible left foot and can take a very good free kick. Would cost a lot of money, and 28 years old but would be a very good player as a goalscoring midfielder. Defenders- Naughton- Has been one of the best players in the yellow and green this season and has ran the furthest distance of any player in the prem. Certainly a very hardworking player and would be a key player as him and Bennet link up very well. Yaya Bannana- Not very well heard of but is a Cameroon u21 international. 6ft 3in and a very strong and powerful player. Got some pace for a center back aswell. Very confident on the ball and could be a very interesting player as he has been a very able denfender in the French league and is one to watch. Goalkeeper- Smithies- Only 21 and has been keeping the experienced Ian Bennet out of Huddersfields team. Is very consistent for his age and could supply back up for Ruddy although we do have Rudd and Steer. The only keeper as we I feel we don''t need to strengthen this area of our game. Who else should we loom at signing?
  7. Just been released by Sunderland and seems like a decent back up keeper for Ruddy and offers a bit more competition for him. He could also step in while Steer and Rudd gain more experience for the reserves. Would need to take a pay cut but would be worth a go
