West Brom have spent a bit of money on some quality players because they have the money to do so. Yes, Palace have spent some money but can you honestly say it''s been money well spent, 1.5 million on Fitz Hall who''s played very little in the Prem. A couple of million on eastern european players who are unproven in the english game. There seems to be an obsession with a target man, yes it would have been nice but Doherty does a job and you can''t play like that all the time in the Premiership, other teams don''t have a target man and get along quite well. There''s no point spending just for the sake of it, I would have liked Harewood but it was all rumour and there was never confirmation from the horses mouth that we were interested. I can see us being like Birmingham and Portsmouth, we pick up some points, see where we''re at in January and then go out and strengthen. Worthy has turned this club around in 3 1/2 years by not shelling out loads of cash, he''s brought in some quality players in the summer for decent money and from what I''ve seen we''ll be alright this season with the current squad, having equitted ourselves well against three of the top teams in the division who have players that cost more than we''ve spent on transfers in the last 10 years.
