Some emotional intelligence can also be highly valuable to the running of a board and a football club. Parma I do not underestimate the intelligence of Board Members What I do remember are those dark days when the current owners oversaw the appointments of Grant, Roder & Gunn followed by our relegation with 8/10 senior players to :League 1 Have you forgotten ?
  2. nutty nigel wrote the following post at 30/12/2015 12:43 PM: So after owning a football club for the best part of 20 years, 5 of which have been PL, Delia and the two Michaels don''t understand how it works.... OKaaaaaaay... Perhaps they should take advice from owners and directors of clubs who have been in the game for comparatively 5 minutes. Or is the reality the other way around? Nice one Nutty - are the 20 year owners you are referring to the same pair that took us into League 1 - YES IT IS. do we want them back at the helm - no way
  3. Herman wrote the following post at 30/12/2015 12:30 PM: What sort of mix is the right mix? Who would you like to see on the board Newton? Typical comment Herman - I make a statement of fact attempting to stimulate opinion from others Only to be accused of being someone else with no view at all from one of the top Trolls - YOU
  4. Please do not forget David McNally is a paid employee of Norwich City FC, has a very minimal shareholding and no real financial interest in our Club. Its basically his job Are we now in a very precarious position as David McD is the only person on the Board who understands how a Football Club or indeed a multi million pound business is run - the rest (Foulger excluded) are made up exclusively of Delia''s mates ? A possible scenario is that if David McD gets a better job offer from another club (he has done a fantastic job for us and others must look at him) he could resign and we would be right up the swanny, with the mob that is left trying to run the show The current Board has completely the wrong mix - I just hope Delia has deep pockets as she is going to have to keep McNally sweet
  5. can u sit down please wrote the following post at 30/12/2015 12:10 PM Our club is run like North Korea. McNally is untouchable. What a stupid comment McNally is a paid employee and as such has to do what the owners wish ?
  6. Indy wrote the following post at 21/12/2015 2:37 PM: Nutty I''ll leave it here, you and your inner circle, rule the board and have a higher belief of your importance to the club because you try to defend any criticism of S&J or the club itself. I''ll bow to you & Purple as you are so correct all the time we should never bother debating, but just sit back and read your posts like good little supporters     Indy what ever you do - do not bow to the Back Slapping Forum Haunting Trolls you mentioned above   Most of them do not watch Norwich (unless through a dodgy internet stream), do not have a clue what they are talking about (just regurgitating what each other says), live in a bygone era and have nothing else to do with there time other than abuse posters who have different views to their own   The Forum is only alive when challenges are made and people express alternative views (other wise why have a forum at all)   The constant abusive & rejction by the Troll clan is rather sad - As I keep saying who do they think they are - it is not their Forum.   Dont stop posting for goodness sake

Much against my better judgment I will try one last time, using the example of Cullum and the more recent trawl for investrors. Cullum approached the directors in the winter of 2007-08 and had lengthy secret talks on a takeover. When it became clear his proposal wasn''t much liked he withdrew. Then in the summer of 2008 he went public with the same proposal, there were more talks, it again became obvious the board (correctly so in my view at the time and I think history has proved the directors right) still didn''t approve, and Cullum walked away. What from your posts you seem crucially not to understand is that either time Cullum could then have made a formal hostile takeover bid, which the directors would have had to have passed on to shareholders. He didn''t need the directors'' approval. This kind of hostile bid happens all the time. Many takeovers are friendly but many are attempted in the teeth of opposition from the current owners. There has been a boom in the US this year in exactly this kind of manoeuvre. And if Cullum had gone hostile and it seemed to everybody bar Smith and Jones that his plan was a good one then S&J would have had a very difficult time continuing their opposition. The same applies to those 50-plus expression of interest Bowkett mentioned back in 2011. That, as he said, he didn''t regard any of them as financially well-founded would not have stopped some of the companies going hostile - and getting their offer judged by all shareholders - if they thought Bowkett was wrong. Purple what a post - full of your useual fantacies & made up garbage While I continue to revel in the verboseness (is that a real word ?)   2 Points immediately jump of the page How do you know about not only the Secret meeting in 2007-08 but the contents / outcome of that meeting ? Hardly a secret ? (or are you making it up) Hostile Takeovers - Despite what you say, you cannot compare the UK with the USA where there are many Share Indicies - Hostile takeovers in the UK are not that common as far as unquoted Companies are concerned (Norwich City shares are not quoted on any market). Plus when was the last time a Football Club like ours (Shares not quotes on the main Financial Markets) was subject to a Hostile bid - I would suggest these are few & far between - but you make it sound common place, it is not     With regard to the 50 plus expressions of interest mentioned back in 2011 - financially we are in a far better position now, why is the exercise not been undertaken again - or is this perhaps one of the reasons why Bowkett walked   Purple dont forget your posts are your view - most of what you say is your interpretation of what has happened - you need to stop saying things like '' Much against my better judgement I will try one last time'' This is an insult to the previous posters who are seeking clarity and confused by your earlier waffle The Bottom Line is Purple -  who do you think you are - this is not your forum ?

PurpleCanary wrote the following post at 19/12/2015 10:17 PM: If you can find a rich person willing to pay £60m for a minority stake in Norwich City (ie one that gives them a warm feeling inside but no control over the club and their investment) then you will have discovered a very useful idiot. Purple = Palace have As expected from you Purple - we have to read your 100,000 word epilogues on comparisons between UK and World Football over the last 50 years which have missed out the fact that we won the World Cup in 1966 (Hilarious but excruciating boring) but if someone makes a valid post daring to criticize the Stowmarket 2 you have a minor spasm What a sad individual you are and a prime example of what is wrong with this forum Oh you poor darling! I had no idea my contributions caused you such angst. But I have a solution. There is this other poster, Newton, who also succumbs to fits of the vapours when faced with one of my interminably long snoozefests (spookily enough, his complaints have been very similarly worded to yours). So why not form a symbiotic two-person support group? One can declaim my posts aloud while the other screams like a banshee, followed by a mini-group hug, after which you reverse the roles for the next reading. That should cure the problem, or possibly make it far worse... Poor Purple ; -Is getting upset because I have suggested some of us who dare to post on here may not share his favourable opinion of the current owners So sad - he has suggest I move off this Forum ??????? It is unfair what you do solely based on fact I am not in your little click Who is this Newton person sounds like someone with some common sense if he was as tired as I am of this ridiculous round robin slap on the back of the boys system (driving new posters away with abuse and sarcasm) that is operated by the daily trolls that haunt this forum
  9. Boring What a sad individual you are and a prime example of what is wrong with this forum Why don''t we change the name from Pinkun to Delia & Mike Fun Club & join up in a loving with your boring buddies Purple & Til Indeed create your own love in forum & then we wont have to put up with your ridiculous boring posts and constant abuse to anyone that does not support the Stowmarket 2 are fab scenario

  11. TIL 1010 wrote the following post at 19/12/2015 8:43 PM: Have you got anybody in mind Newton who would stump up £30 million and not have control of the club ? Till this was the whole point of my post - Crystal Palace have My first post was taken from the BBC website - read it The current owner at Palace has the club in mind and trying to take it to the next level All the Stowmarket 2 are concerned about is ultimate control hence they will not dilute there shareholding below the 50% barrier Very sad when you consider we have the best young manager in the prem and enormous potential as a club which is being stifled I am trying to create a valid discussion but it is very difficult as this board is haunted by trolls who are not prepared to listen to anything that does not tow the party line Delia has been fantastic for Norwich - but like Holty she needs to move on
  12. TIL 1010 wrote the following post at 19/12/2015 6:26 PM: Berty Me wrote: Calling you an idiot is not an insult. The only insult is your idea that NCFC fans share your stupidity about money. I thought you would have remembered City1st that Newton never was very good with maths when it comes to NCFC. Till u are wrong there, my maths are perfect - we just cant shoe horn that pair out & move on. We only owe them around £2M and there initial share investment of approx. £10M must now be worth £60M If they loved Norwich so much why not sell 50% of there shareholding for £30M - invest that cash in the club and insist that new shareholder invested a similar amount Extension to City stand brought and paid for - no debt to the club Till or anyone tell me why they wont do it ?
  13. Berty Me wrote the following post at 19/12/2015 2:15 PM: If w had these benevolent fellows we could get out of the championship and pay off all our debts. Can anyone show me a club that has some of these money folk that is not in the PL. So it might be better stop laughing at the OP and seeing him as an idiot. ATTENTION HALF WHIT ALERT BERTY ME - why do you half to insult posters who do not follow your party line IDIOT
  14. Berty Me wrote the following post at 19/12/2015 1:27 PM: Nothing to stop you putting up your money, instead of endlessly grizzling and whining on here. That''s the whole point BM - current owners will not dilute there shareholding AS THEY WANT TO RETAIN 100% CONTROL
  15. Crystal Palace have completed a deal that sees American investors Josh Harris and David Blitzer take a large stake in the club. The pair, who already own the NBA''s Philadelphia 76ers and the NHL''s New Jersey Devils, will join chairman Steve Parish in control at Selhurst Park. Harris, Blitzer and Parish will each own an 18 per cent stake in Palace. Parish said shareholders had agreed an "initial £50m injection of capital" to develop the club''s stadium. Parish helped rescue the south London club from bankruptcy in 2010. His partners in that deal - fellow Palace fans Stephen Browett, Jeremy Hosking and Martin Long - will have smaller stakes We going no where with present owners ?
  16. What a bargain those 3 year season tickets were when we were running out of cash in August Or was it just a big con ?
  17. Phillips is the CEO of Delia Ltd - he adds nothing other than ensuring Delia has a voting majority when she uses Fry''s Proxy vote Claiming Fry brings this and that to the table is rubbish He does not attend meetings and was invited on the Board by Delia to ensure she would not be out voted
  18. PurpleCanary wrote the following post at 10/12/2015 1:09 PM:  Gunthorpe wrote: Many on this forum do not seem io appreciate that the appointments are specifically made to ensure DS remains in over all control when it comes down to voting       That can''t be true, surely? I thought the whole point of owning a company was to appoint directors who would vote you down every time. As far as I know that is what the owners of every other PLC in the United Kingdom do. But you have to admit, if you''re right, and Smith and Jones have come up with some cunning plan to exert control that no-one in British business had ever thought of before, then that is pretty damned clever of them. Purple - I like it at last You are right the Stowmarket 2 are doing what every majority shareholder does in the country - appoint a Board which gives them control Why do so very few people appreciate this ????????????????????????? I doubt if anything will change until they move on - when ever that is
  19. The current Norwich Board consists of 7 posts - the make up ensures DS retains overall control   We have to remember the Stowmarket 2 as majority shareholders can appoint however they like to the Board   Many on this forum do not seem io appreciate that the appointments are specifically made to ensure DS remains in over all control when it comes down to voting   DS needs 4 votes to have a majority The 4 posts which she controls are Her own & hubby Stephen Fry (personal friend of Delia - attends no meetings but has given her his Proxy vote), invited on to the Board by Delia for this sole reason The 4th vote she controls is Mr Phillips - he knows as much about football as most of the posters on this forum (not a lot) but he is the CEO of Delia Ltd (I wonder what that does) We then have David Mc who of course is a paid employee and does as he is told (dont we all) The other 2 (Foulger & Bowkett) were brought into to add experience & make up the numbers but in reality they have no power as the Board will always vote the way Delia wants   Why did Bowkett leave ? Sorted out the finances and as he knows he has no real power - cant blame him for walking   For everyone on this thread to start suggesting that Delia will add 3 new faces, which would mean that she loses control of the Board seems beyond belief given the way she manipulates decisions at the club to date But lets see - personaly cannot see a change in policy from the iron fist approached, but then pigs might fly

Hi Ricardo I can understand why you and the rest of your clan crowd round and support Purple when he starts pontificating - after all you think you control this board with your constant rambling meaningless banter - attempting to ridicule anyone who does not follow your party line The point is, while most of us do not doubt there are substantial funds available to spend in January (we spent little in the summer ) - how on earth can you justify Purples redicluouse statement that there is not a need for extra money in Jan as we already have a lot But then you just have ???????????
  21. Vermin read exactly what the fool Purple said its you who talking bollox for siding with him
  22. channonswindmill wrote the following post at 07/12/2015 9:08 PM: It was quite mild for December. I agree chs - why comment on current issues when talking dribble will do
  23. PurpleCanary wrote the following post at 07/12/2015 7:26 PM: I doubt there is a great need for extra money for January. There are the several millions we tried but failed to spend in the summer plus the millions already put aside for next month plus my generous contribution for a three-year season ticket. As in the summer it is not going to be the money for transfers that is the problem but choosing good enough targets that are available and willing to sign for us at the wages we pay. Yet another absolutely ridiculous Purple comment. Your gushing love affair with the current owners is very clear as this taints all your posts - most of which have little value in the eyes of a neutral Can you please explain how a club up until recently was selling 3 year season tickets to raise cash, now in your opinion does not need any extra money for January because we have enough. What on earth is this ridiculous statement based on ? You are either on the DS payroll or exceptionally naïve - all clubs need money to spend / invest in transfer windows. If we fail to invest in Jan we could well end up in the Champs
  24. Yet another positive from Saturday Even tho most of the posters on this forum will try to paper over the fact that Bowkett has walked, we all know that this is not how Companies operate. Clearly all is not well at Board level and it could well be that he appreciated that to move forward there would have to be a change of policy at Board & Ownership level that may well have been resisted by the current incumbents. To suggest that he was happy to be realected as chairman 4 weeks ago to now walk is naïve - something has happened behind the scenes at Carrow Road ?
  25. Why is everyone on this Board so negative, did anyone realy think that with the nucleaus of the team that got relegated 2 years ago, cast offs from other Prem Clubs and only 1 quality signing (Brady), we would take this league by storm - then you are a fool. Plus we have owners who are unable to invest in our club (unlike 99% of Prem Clubs) and show no intentions of selling Our scouting network is laughable none of them even have a passport We have no spare cash because we still have very expensive playes on the payroll who Neil does not want (debris from previous managers failed transfer policies) eg. Wolf (on loan but wages not fully covered), Hooper (short term loan but will no doubt be returned to sender on 1st Jan),Lafferty (why is he still here) ,Voo (started 1 league game in 17 months) to start with (plus these 4 would have got bonus when we were promoted but would have done very little to contribute towards going up)   The positives are:- We are debt free no matter what happens After 15 games we are still out of the relegation zone Neil must now know the following:- Grabban & Whitaker are not Prem standard and neither should start another game unless we have an injury crisis Martin struggles at Centre Half and should only be used as Backup for any defensive position Bassong & Bennett are our best central partnership until we sign anyone else Bardy & Olssen play very well together on the left (saturday accepted) He knows he need to strength defence & attacking midfield in Jan (with regards to the latter when Holly does not play Howson is not an acceptable option)   Overall Neil would have learned a lot from these 15 games, he is no fool and is the right man to take us forward. Even if the unthinkable happenes and we do go down - we need to support him as he can get us back up Talk of Neil being replaced is rubbish
