  1. Having nearly made it to the end, I am 99% sure it''s Dave Kitson. His mate at Chelsea is Steve Sidwell, his best mate who played international was Nicky Shorey. It doesn''t actually say he played for England in the book. His fall-out with the manager and record transfer move was the 5.5 million move to Stoke. His first main club was Cambridge United. His back to back player of the year awards were with Reading were he got them promoted. I believe it''s Dave Kitson. TSF isn''t Dion Dublin, race has ruled him out, and lack of music references in the book.
  2. I''ve been reading ''The Secret Footballer'' this past week - worth a read if you A) like reading B) Like football and C) Can be bothered. My point of this post is that in ''The Secret Footballer'', there is section about media and player exposure. In short - players that are seeking a transfer in the coming window will try to get their name mentioned in the media as much and by any means possible. This theory has made me wonder whether, after the crowd getting on his back and the mismatch of brilliant and woeful performances, plus the being regularly in newspaper rumour columns and on Soccer AM etc whether John Ruddy is angling for a move back to the Premier League (or further a field). I for one, wouldn''t be surprised if he ended up at Liverpool, it''s a big move in his career, he''s around peak age for a footballer and deserves one final big transfer. He''s obviously lived in Merseyside before and maybe wants out now the fickle fans (me included) keep getting on his back.
  3. When Olsson got the ball against Reading he either stopped or played it sideways to another player. His crossing and attacking play, once the crowd had got on his back was hardly worthy of a move in to an attacking position. He is definitely in NCFC''s top 3 underperforming over-rated players. I''d give Garrido a go. I also agree that we need Bennett back. Last season was a strange one for him, one game he''d get MOTM and the next game he''d be dropped - it happened at least twice under Hughton - strange. Regarding Lafferty - I''d play him up top, leading the line-like Grant Holt with Hooper behind him. Jerome isn''t putting enough of a shift in to deserve a starting place and doesn''t seem to have the same impact on a game when he starts. He got a fair haul of his goals from the bench.
  4. Being ''Player of the Season'', the year your team is relegated is probably up there with us voting for Carlo Nash last year!
  5. My mate on the desk next to me is actually wetting himself. Needless to say he''s a Newcastle fan that was glad to see Bassong leave.
  6. Bassong better than? Give over... He was the devil last year but now a hero for not being part of a failing team...
  7. Appointing Phelan as manager is as daft as appointing Adams - so what if he assisted Sir Alex. He''s never managed a team himself either and he appears to have had no impact at Carrow Road either... Bassong is a one-season wonder - it isn''t just playing for us, look at Spurs and Newcastle - they were glad to see the back of him too. He''s slow, sluggish and his attitude stinks.
  8. Are NCFC fans being too irrational wanting Adams out? Look at Pardew at Newcastle and Alladyce at West Ham - both sets of fans adamantly wanted a change at the top and now they''re both flying high at the top. Look at Ferguson too - his reign at Manchester United started awfully and was almost sacked - what ever happened to him? How long do you give a manager? Is it just a blip? Do the board keep faith with Adams like Newcastle and West Ham did?
  9. I have read a few posts on here and the edp comments section and what surprises me most is how some fans have such short-term memories. Bassong is NOT the answer! RVW is NOT the answer! These players aren''t going to miraclulously start ''performing'' for NCFC, they didn''t give a damn last year and they wont give a damn this year. NCFC weren''t good enough last year to stay in the Premier League and the same players still can''t play together in this league. There are too many over-rated, underperforming players that certain NCFC fans think are THE ANSWER but if you take the canary specs off you''ll realise a lot of our players are average at best... Howson and Olssen for me need dropping. It''s no coincedence our fall down the league coincides with Howsons injury return, and he NEVER turns up in the second half of matches. As for Olssen - when did he turn in to Garrido? No attacking play? When he gets the ball he stops or passes sideways? ANYONE COULD DO THAT! You''re suppose to be an attacking full-back! Massively over-rated. I don''t think it''s coincedence that Olseen has been ever-present in our relegation and awful defending. I would play Garrido or Toffolo, who seems to be playing with drive and passion - something Olssen lacks! Not a happy NCFC fan! Is it Adams fault? IMO - Not entirely...
  10. I saw a rumour, I think it was on Sky Sports, that apparently NCFC are interested in Crystal Palace''s Dwight Gayle. Personally I think he''s a very tidy player who with a good run in a an attacking team could score a lot of goals - A bit like Grabban but with better finishing. I see Danny Graham has joined Wolves today too. Decent signing for them - I don''t think he would have improved our strike force.
  11. How is Tettey the best defensive midfielder in the league? The hole he sits in is Norwich''s biggest weakness - The amount of goal NCFC have conceded from long-shots, because of our midfields inability to close-down and defend is laughable! If you take your canary specs off for a while, you''ll realise that there are 23 other teams in this league, and hundreds of fans of other clubs that would argue there defensive centre midfielder is the best in the league.
