BroadstairsR 2,166 Posted November 11, 2013 Picked this up on my morning travels through the forums.http://www.financialfairplay.co.uk/latest-news/bt-champions-league-deal-makes-qu The new BT deal hasn''t been discussed much on here on here and probably because it does not directly effect us, financially at least. It will in other ways.We have recently suffered defeats/hammerings in the League from three teams who stand to gain £80m between them this season from TV rights from European competition only.Manchester City will make more from this than our ''massive'' Summer spending spree alone. The new BT deal will increase this greatly, thus widening the gap that we have witnessed to our chagrin. The eventual outcome is anybody''s guess but perhaps a little dabble in the Europa League might not be a bad thing for us after all ... one day.Even that pays well. I''m a bit of a Hughton outer at the moment, but this does add some perspective to his and our lot.
