I took a season or two after that until he was moved to left back by Wenger. Also in defence of Roeder, he made a lot of changes to the youth academy whilst at Norwich which certainly helped in the successful under-18s Cup win. I also think he was in an impossible position with Huckerby - Sir Alex has recently mentioned that as a manager you have to make sure you have the most authority within the club, when Roeder came in Huckerby was in that position (even holding his own press conferences if I remember correctly). Whilst no offering Hucks a new contract was proven the right thing to do in hindsight, the manner in which it was carried out was a bit stupid - I can see the rational though.
