what next?

Recommended Posts

Yesterday v fulham we were simply rubbish, why? i do not know. Pre season i had heard talk of us having 11 captains on the pitch, but yesterday we didnt seem to have any. No one on the pitch seemed to want to take responsibility, they all seemed resigned to losing. I know the first goal was on side and the second was over the line, but no one even appealed, normally defenders appeal for everything.

Our players are good enough. i think the manager is good enough, so hopefully this was just a one off, and is probably the best time for it to happen. we have plenty og time to put it right. People are moaning that we hadnt spent all our ''large'' trnsfer budget, but i it didnt do QPR any good.

What happens next?

1)We clearly need a CB that will organise the defence and take responsibilty to organise others, Curtis Davies would be ideal

2)Garrido needs to come in, instead of Tierney ASAP

3)if we are to play 451, which can be effective,  surman cant be used as a right midfielder. i dont recall him geting back to help r martin once, it seemed to be snodgrass, put snodgrass on the right where he is most effective and wes in the hole behind holt.

4)We need a new striker, i love holt but he is never match fit at start of the season, it takes him 67-10 games normally to get up to speed, a strong fit james vaughan would be good, but the fact he started pres season so well and hasnt really figured since suggest hes either injured again or the rumours he wants to go/or we want to get rid are true.

5)Hughton was my 1st choice,i think he will still do well, it just takes time to instill his more defensive mindset into the players who are used to attack attack attack, but he needs to sound positive, why talk about the opposition being technically better then us?

6)we need to have faith, we need to get behind the team, and manager, its one game. hughton is not alex mcgleish, and we are not villa fans, we get behind OUR team OUR manager.

In 2 weeks time when the transfer window has closed, we will hopefully have been strengthened as necessary thanks to yesterdays result, teams like wba and swansea will maybe have been fooled into thinking they are better then they are and by the time they realise they arent and its too late, unil january.
