Joanna Grey 0 Posted January 30, 2011 Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler admitted he would like keep on-loan Norwich striker Cody McDonald beyond the end of the season following his matchwinning brace in the 2-1 victory over Aldershot. The Gills led eight minutes into the second half when McDonald stabbed home Curtis Weston''s right-wing cross.McDonald then powered in his 14th of the season from 12 yards in the 90th minute before Alex Rodman''s stunning debut goal in stoppage time.McDonald is on a season-long loan from Norwich and Hessenthaler said: "Cody is just finding his feet now. The problem we have is that he is not our player. We''ll see what happens at the end of the season, but we''re glad we''ve got him."I''m a little bit nervous about speaking to Norwich. He''s ours up until the end of the season. I''d love to think we can keep him beyond, but it''s up to Norwich."He''s probably pricing himself out of our market. If Norwich don''t decide to keep him, hopefully we''ll go up and that will only bode well in attracting someone like Cody because I think he''ll certainly be attracting clubs above League Two." Woman in the Stands (WITS) 0 Posted January 30, 2011 A friend of mine is a Gills fan and she doesn''t want him to come to us, as I posted the other week, because of all the goals he''s scoring for them.

Jacko 0 Posted January 30, 2011 Hessenthaler is spot on. I am sure there will be interest in Cody in the summer. Certainly in league 1 and given that some clubs in the championship seem to be having a look at Adam Le Fondre, who has a similiar goalscoring record then who knows? So Lambert will have to decide whether he wants a fee for the guy or he is actually going to play him. In Lambert We Trust.
