Canarycat 0 Posted February 1, 2011 I cannot understand why anybody is panicking because we didn''t pay an inflated price for a league 1 winger. What has this manager got to do to prove to you all that he knows exactly what his business is about. A lot of people seem to forget that only last season we were spiralling down the divisions and were humiliated @ home 7-1 by a very average league 1 team. Since he has taken charge we have risen from the ashes and now sit on the verge of the premier league. We are so feared by the rest of the championship that visitors to Carrow Road park the proverbial bus and try to hit us on the break & hang on to anything they can snatch. Away from home we dominate so much we have not lost since October and we are now dissatisfied with points @ places like QPR & Palace. This manager is something special, the players respond to & respect him & the vast majority of the fans idolise him, just look at the histrionics when Burnley tested the water. Furthermore the new chief exec & board clearly back him to the hilt. It is clear to me that the decks have been cleared & salaries offloaded by letting several players out on loan to pave the way for a major offensive as soon as the dust settles on the ridiculous January window. We are now in a superb position next week to bring in the few players we need on loan to supplement the already excellent & high performing squad, because the premier big boys will have spare capacity in their squads & we can cherry pick quality players on loans to the end of the season. If we go up some of them may stay. If we loose in the play offs they go back to their clubs and we haven''t broke the bank. It''s a win, win situation & superb management. If we all keep behind the team, the manger & the club we are heading back to the premier league. Then we won''t need favours off league 1 managers or be worried about league 1 wingers. Tell me I''m wrong in May.
silver fox 0 Posted February 1, 2011 I couldn''t agree more Canarycat. Whatever we were prepared to pay for Bennett is still in the kitty, and can be used to bring in quality loans to make the final push.Brighton may have tried to push the price of Bennett up, but they are now stuck with a player who asked to leave, and might feel the club have let him down. They will look really stupid at the end of the season if they don''t get promoted and have to let Bennett go for less money.
