mj 0 Posted January 26, 2010 Just got back. Thier goal was a shambles and we looked off the pace in the first half. Poor performance for 75 mins but I thought our extra fitness and good substitutions did the trick. (Well played Mr Lambert!) Not enough hold up play from the front two without Holt and the midfield was bypassed often and rarely won second balls. The one moment of genuine quality won us the game, the cross from Wes was superb, proves to me he is the most important player we have.McNamee looked lively and McDonald added much needed pace and determination. Walsall will be gutted to have lost, thought they played well, but as the cliche goes, the mark of a good team is playing badly and picking up results! Marty 0 Posted January 26, 2010 that is fair enough but I thought we were far better than them for the first 20 mins, but then we went to sleep a touch. But as you say, we got the points without looking brilliant.
