Gentleman Jim 0 Posted September 20, 2004 Now we''ve all decided Greeno is leaving and sums from £3m to £12m are being voiced what is the going rate for a keeper ? I can''t seem to recall too many mega deals for that position. In fact if he was to go for a British record how much would it have to be ? Record books out ! Gentleman Jim 0 Posted September 20, 2004 As nobody responded to this I have performed my own limited research.Record British fee for a goalkeeper was Kirkland, Coventry to Liverpool £9million.Prior to that it was Wright, Ipswich to Arsenal £6million.So if Greeno goes the "healthy cheque book", Nige quoted, has to have a few pages that can produce £12m plus as the time period between the events will be similar.Logical or not ?
