sparkie 0 Posted May 8, 2009 Mr Gunn if you wish to manage a football team, start by learning your trade. Apply for the job at Kings Lynn, the last manager made a good job of it. Reading bits from here and there it looks like you are BEGGING for the Norwich job, You had your chance and failed, at Lynn you would get the chance to learn. rjwc22 0 Posted May 8, 2009 Or at least do a Mourinho and spend a few years working in a menial role just so you can learn from a great manager.Maybe Gunn could use his close personal contacts and get a job cleaning SAFs car for a year or two...
Ultramagnetic 0 Posted May 8, 2009 I really don''t think Lynn would have him. By all accounts Webb wasn''t that popular at the Walks because of his Norwich connections.
Mello Yello 2,572 Posted May 8, 2009 If Bryan had ever intended to pursue a career as a manager/coach, he should have prepared for it during the twilight of his career or when he''d finished playing pro-football to obtain his coaching qualifications. He didn''t, preferring instead, to take on various corporate and ''non-footballing'' roles and some other employment within NCFC....He was, with his personality well suited in those roles - and the fact that he was a respected individual within the Norfolk Community, charity, fund- raising etc, was appointed Sheriff of Norwich.I accept that we all have to start somewhere in a new career or challenge.....but, the daunting task of keeping NCFC in the Championship was even a tall order for a seasoned and experienced manager, let alone a decent fellow like Mr Gunn, who on occasion assisted in the club goalkeeping coaching role.Nothing wrong with Bryan as a man and a true Canary legend and a respected club personality.....As our Manager? No thanks.
