Charlie Farlie 0 Posted December 17, 2008 I am dismayed to see reports that Glen is willing to let Davis Bell go as a straight swap and its really is hitting home how this great club of ours has fallen, I believe that Bell has proved that he is already a quality player , and one that can only improve over the forthcoming months. I appreciate that we are vulnerable at the back, there is a saying in football that “if you don’t score more goals than the opposition you don’t wins games” Take away part of our attacking potential, someone who can create goal scoring opportunities and it strikes me that Glen is happy to run through the remainder of the season not conceding rather than winning and that worries me immensely. Don’t get me wrong, I think that Ward would be a great asset to the club, but not at the risk of jeopardising our supply to the front men. I am now starting to wonder how many of the 20,000 season ticket holders will renew for the forthcoming season. Realistically I would guess this will drop to 17,000 if we stay up, if we are relegated then who knows, but one thing is for sure any drop will start to show the board “our” discontent, (I will of course be renewing -finances permitting-as this club is a part of my life, and has been since childhood) From the Chase era fans have never been able to decipher where the revenue generated from the sale of players has disappeared to? and this continues through to the current Board. We have neglected our youth policy, and those that have made the grade have been sold for measly few £ or farmed off to display their talents elsewhere. I believe that the core of foundations of this club are, and has been for some time “rotten”, the accounts do not stack up, and the books have never balanced, unless that is they are preceded by the usual Doncaster spin ! On that note Good Luck Mr Doncaster, hope you get the FA job and lets see what destruction you can cause nationally to OUR beautiful game ! I don’t have answers to the problems, just a voice to express my views but I think that darker and more worrying times are ahead. A extremely worried and very disillusioned Fan .
