"I''ve told him I would like a big Arab or Russian millionaire."The Eagles, who feature in today''s televised Championship match, are languishing fourth from bottom of the table after winning just one of their first seven matches.But Warnock said: "You can''t blame the chairman, he''s taken it on the chin for long enough."He''s always fully supportive but he has made it clear what he wants to do. I think he would rather do it sooner rather than later. We''re not a big Premier League club but we''ve got an attractive club in a good area close to London and there will be people interested. Whelan has serious concerns over the growing number of foreign owners in the English top tier following the Arab take-over at Manchester City. While City fans are pinching themselves at their good luck, Whelan feels that the mega-rich Middle East take-over increases the chances of financial meltdown. "What happens when one of the foreign owners gets fed up or the supporters get onto him if the team is having a bad time?" said Whelan. "One of the foreign owners will spit his dummy out sooner or later and walk away. And then that club is bankrupt, gone. Oh, that will happen. That will happen. If the crowd gets on to one of these foreigners, they will blow. "This is not a game you can treat as a toy. Football is part and parcel of our lives, and our livelihood. Our supporters love their clubs, big style. "City think they have money to burn. And they have - for one year, two years, five years. But what happens when that goes." And Whelan fears the wealth City can call on will screw up the game, sparking ridiculous transfer fees. On deadline day City paid almost £35m for Robinho.
