irishcanary 0 Posted August 30, 2004 Having let our best holding forward go in the summer, we must sign a target man before tuesday. As i said he would, Doc has done well, but he is so much better at centre half trust me. Him and Charlton will be great
Morph 19 Posted August 30, 2004 Irish, I''ve posted this in other threads before, but why do City need a target man?HollowayCanary has just started another note entitled "Do we need another target man?" and puts forward the suggestion that City don''t play a style of football that requires a target man. Keeping the ball on the deck and working in wide players who possess pace doesn''t require a team to simply hoof the ball to a front man.
AJ 1,219 Posted August 30, 2004 yes but it would still be handy to have someone who can do that job iswell. Someone like Dean Ashton or Harewood would be perfect then:Great on the groud, just as good in the air and can run with the ball......Huckerby likes to play of someone, like what doc is doing, but doc is not good enough for us on the deck. Hes a defender and not a skills specialist!Peter crouch would have been perfect for this role but, oh well............
